I’d go get that fixed... that’s gotta be fucking the drive line angles up since it probably shifted the transmission off center

Mine were like that for years on the 2002 and never clicked like some other cars with bad CV’s.

Only reason for doing them was because everything else was being rebuilt.

That would be awesome! Bet that thing cost$ to ship. I’m still weighting my options and may take you up on this. Thanks for the picture. I’ve drawn lines approx. where they should go based on studies. Actual locations TBD using @empty_lord TSB measurements.

As far as specs go, that’s all I saw for the rear bearings/seals on the axel, maybe @empty_lord knows of a different section with more info.
and I’ve never done anything like this either, I would maybe think about that puller that @bmf4069 offered. When my neighbor did his taco, he pulled his axels, measured EVERYTHING, and made sure the shop put everything back on just so

I wonder what the best measuring tool would be for this? I’m supposing some sort of digital type fine instrument. Something with large calipers to span the hub section?

TIL Nitro gear makes a Front diff axle bushing to replace the needle bearing as well. Anyone have any experience with it? it's $6 more but comes with new seals.

    Thoughts?

Anyone know if the 2005-2006 AC tail lights will plug and play into a 2003? I like the way they look over the tri-colored ones.

My bad. I was going off the assumption that he would be doing new grease and inspecting the CV. The difference between rebooting and completely disassembling the CV joint isn't much. I actually think taking the balls out of the joint was the funnest part of the whole ordeal. Getting the axle out of the CV joint on the side held in by the tension of the c clip was probably the worst part. I think I mortared myself to death trying to get that thing to separate. Reminds me of my first ak build with a semi blocked gas port that always got stuck cases until I realigned it.

I did some homeless depot bubble insulation on the rear of the cab and under the center console. It was cheap so why not? I also pondered the possibilities of a custom center console. Lots of space going unused.

Parked my truck on the street last night, and when I came to pull it back, Started it up and fuck. Someone stole my passenger side catalytic converter :(. Sounds fucking sweet though. Anyone know if it is ok to drive with only one catalytic converter? Will it damage anything if I drive it till its fixed?

I've found tires …. 'flash over'? if they sit. The get a hardness with time & just don't have the traction they once did. I assumed you could drive it off, but last time it happened to me they just wouldn't get better. The whole tires get hard & expire after 5 years has some validity in my experience. When I had the nubby tires reinstalled for winter, I put the 4 mounted summer tires in the bed as winter weight. Easy enough to pull them out if I need the bed. Heavier than a bed full of snow.

Check the date code on your tires.

I don't know, but I did swap rear lamps between my Tacoma step side & fleet side beds. Was expecting them not to exchange but they did, so maybe yes in your case.

Hey guys isn't there 2 factory skids? Unless I'm thinking of my TRD tacos that had 2. I could've sworn I had a front skid and an oil pan skid stock. When I got my truck back from the shop this morning and went to bolt on my new skids, I only had the stock front skid. They would have had to remove the oil pan skid to do the rack and pinion and I'm guessing they forgot to put it back on. Before I go there tomorrow to get it back to sell on craigslist, I'd like to confirm its existance. And I don't mean the little bumper skid some models came with.

the rubber still feels soft. doesnt feel or sound like theyre too hard. but its possible. hell they still sound like new tires in the shop. and thats a distinct sound they make. so far with 200 lbs in the bed its been much better

Leds are installed in everything but the switches (those bulbs have not come in yet)

the cig lighter light is first off too bright, and my modification to the bulb to make it fit made it sometimes work.. i'll find a better bulb later

also debating the custom cluster faces or just sand the green off

well me being me has found the anytime front camera setup for 3rd gen tacos that use the wheel controls to turn on... currently trying to figure out if i can get it working on the radio i have... because why not. backup camera is nice. but the front camera would be even nicer for me shoehorning this truck into my garage
