So I installed new led headlights on my 2000 tundra and now the fog lights don’t work. When I first installed one of the leds the fog lights were good but when I installed both then the fogs turned off. Anyone find a solution to fixing this problem?

So if you revert to previous non-led bulbs the fogs return to working? If they don't then perhaps a fuse dedicated to fogs blew?

Power to main and fogs are not the same and can't imagine how a lower main light load would cause fogs to cease.

I don't know...but the relay for the fog lights is powered by the same feed that runs the low beams.

    Resistor time Boiiii!

Too late for you, but anyone else reading there are too many good bulb options at great pricing to need resistors anymore. Do your research upfront so you don’t end up like dis boi wit wire all ova!

So this is just my uninformed thoughts...

But if you need a resistor to make LEDS work then what is the point of the LEDS?

And if you are only doing that so your fog lights work properly....requiring your fog lights is a pretty trivial project.

You're on the right path. If R stays the same, and V stays the same, then A will also stay the same. But LEDs in a vehicle aren't so much about amp draw as it is lumens per watt, in which LEDs excel.

Yes if I put my previous bulbs the fog lights come back on. So on my truck even before putting the leds if the fog lights are on and you put them on high beam the fog lights turn off. So I do believe I need a resistor.

Yeah my truck is wired the same, high beams = no fogs (if fogs turned on), flip high beams off and fogs go on (if fogs on). I have leds in the main lights (they serve as low & high) w/separate fogs. I never could find led h3s to fit my fogs so they stayed incandescent yet they work with the leds serving as mains.

On my truck the only place that wanted a resistor when using leds was the blinkers, i would get the rapid blink (as if a bulb were out).

So on your truck, its as by using leds as mains the system thinks the high beams are on and shuts fogs down. If you do use the resisitors, careful they get really hot. Usually they're mounted onto a metal brace so the heat dissipates somewhat onto the metal.

    Luck. :^)

I’d find a different bulb that doesn’t require a resistor personally. Those resistors get stupid hot and will melt anything near them. HIDS don’t require any resistors FYI.
