Had aftermarket wheels put on and new sensors on the wheels. The shop cannot get them to connect to the truck. Been dealing with it for a few weeks.
Has anyone had issues with not getting aftermarket sensors to work.
    The truck is a 2018 Tundra SR5

The same happened to me with 2019 Tundra Limited. I put some steel wheels with winter tires on it and Discount Tires installed their aftermarket sensors. I've been there 4 times and no success. TPMS light still on. It looks that IDs are correctly programmed in ECU (I can read them) and they can read them in the wheels. The sensors just do not connect.
I plan to purchase some Autel MX sensors and Autel 501 device and try to program and register them myself.

Let me know what happens with this, cant believe I haven’t had more response, haven’t been able to find much information on this, tomorrow the shop is going to try different sensors.

Have them rotate the sensors 180°. It happened to me too when I installed aftermarket wheels from steel.

Find the thread on here that tells you how to permanently disconnect the TPMS.

I removed my sensors and replaced them with standard valve stems, the yellow warning light stops flashing after about two minutes.

They are not OEM sensors, but the orientation really matters?

I don't believe that. Radio signal is strong enough even if the tires are not on the truck but stored on the other side of my garage.

I did a test today. I changed IDs back to my original tires using TS501 and put my original tires on the bed of the truck. I drove about 200 feet and the TPMS light went off and the pressure was displayed correctly. So it looks that programming using TS501 works, the problem is the new sensors.
So I made clones of my original sensors (used Autel MX sensors and TS501 tool). I planned to test them today but no chance to find a store where they would change it. It's before Thanksgiving and a snowstorm is coming to our area. I will try it in a week or two. At least, my TPMS light is now off because TPMS can read my original tires stored in the garage and for short trips, it's enough not to trigger alarm.

After rotating the tpms 180° in an oem worked with me. It took 7 trips to discount tire to figure it out after numerous research and resetting.

Thank you, it looks that anything is possible. Toyota TPMS is probably some kind of magic...

O.K., today Discount Tires replaced the sensors with Toyota OEM sensors and everything works now. I would be very careful with aftermarket sensors. I was not able to make them work.
