    It is possible to trick the system into thinking there is more or less ethanol than actually true because of the lack of a specific ethanol content sensor. Additives, water, etc... will change how rich and/lean the truck runs and therefore will change the ECMs estimation of ethanol content.

    @OVTune

    Seemed to be driving normally. Rpm wasn't high like it was unlocked or in 5th. I didn't notice anything abnormal til I flipped to the average mpg screen and saw 14 instead of the usual 18ish for the trip. When I reset it it came back as like 12.5mpg. I had to get off the highway a couple minutes later so I didn't have a chance to mess with it much more.

    The problem is that there isn't a sensor... It's an algorithm. :rolleyes:

    My foot is the biggest influencer to my MPG. SC'd 35" tires I get 14-15 at 80 plus on 400 mile rolling hill trip. Same trip at 75mph or less, pulling a tow dolly (unloaded) I was getting 17-18 mpg. I i were to do 65ish I know I could pull 20mpg. But I didnt put a SC on my truck to so 65ish

    Is there a difference between NA and Supercharged MPG with the exact same driving habits? does it even matter to know if somebody is N/A or Supercharged when reporting milage? I just assumed S/C was less mpg in general. Are the EPAs numbers anything to compare to?

    Then again last I checked on some older years on there site like my 2011 sequoia EPA says it gets better milage 19 highway vs 17 for the tundra with same engine/4x4 package. That doesn't make sense. I bet the sequoia is nearly 1000# heavier than a standard tundra. Unless its from aerodynamics but 2 mpg difference. Maybe EPA is smoking something...

    I only see 18 plus with 100% highway literally hot car fill up at gas station next to on ramp and drive on flat section of I-80 till bone dry at 75 mpg. Anything else even if 90% highway 10% city on a tank and I am lucky to get 14 tops... my average is 12-13 in real life. all stock truck with Michelin highway tires.

    I would be surprised to discover that the EPA tested a S/C 'd Tundra/Sequoia. My opinion would be that they (N/A vs S/C'd) would test very similar in similar circumstances. My S/C'd Long Travel Tacoma did, versus when it was stock.

    This is mere speculation, but the Sequoia may be more aerodynamic in that it may allow the air to close more smoothly behind it with less turbulence. ¯\(°_o)/¯

    I see 12-13 on average with my SCd double cab. My commute to work is 13 miles. Half 40mph roads and half interstate @ 75mph. Thats just normal driving, normal acceleration. If I get aggressive with the throttle for a tank of gas, I see it drop down to 10-11. If I am super nice and gentle on the pedal for a tank of gas, I get 15. So I settle for the average with spirited driving here and there. Sure is fun to romp on it from time to time and have a 6000lb truck set you back in the seat.

    So there MAY be one reason a sequoia is better than a tundra? :eek2:

    I wouldn't mind having a Sequoia in the least, but then I'd feel obligated to offer to haul people around. But with a Standard cab, bucket seat Tundra, I don't always have to be a Designated Driver.:burp:

    Not That I have noticed if...you can keep your foot out of the fun peddle avoiding boost and driving easy it may actually be slightly...albeit...slightly better. Just my observations over the last few years since I SC'd mine. Towing is however a marked improvement...and requires less throttle having more power overall...Pulling the same 9K load through some hills where I would get 6-7mpg, I now get 7-8mpg.

    I am in the middle of the tune holding until the gear issue is resolved and I am getting 13-14 MPG when I just drive it

    Same as me max... On the freeway there is noticable mpg improvement being SC'd. Around town about the same and when towing there it's better. But remember.. any gain in mpg you loose by having to purchase 91 octane. But it doesn't mean you still can't use the mpg gains for justification for getting the SC. I know I did.
