A little of this and a little of that. Its pretty run of the mill.
All of the above. None of the above. A & B but not C. B & C but not A. Reminds me of the bar exam. Except I passed the bar and I ended up using the legacy flasher option to load my recent update.

When I reinstalled, I clicked the update button after I opened the flash program. Then clicked the install driver's button. After that, flashed the new program.

You still flash the same way as always. You're only downloading the flash manager for the logger, nothing else.

Well the new flash manager doesnt work. I tried the fix on your website and nothing. I reinstalled windows and had to redo everything on my laptop and still doesnt work. I emailed zen desk yesterday 9am and got a reply asking for a screen shot; which I provided. Then no response from you guys.

I will re-install the legacy flasher this morning and give that a shot but I wasted 3 hours of my life yesterday trying to install a tune fml

I will check today and get back to you.

But as said before you don't even need flash manager to install the tune, so no idea what you were even trying to do. You use P5Flash which you already have.

It's ALWAYS been this way. Flash manager is ONLY for the logger

If this isn't crystal clear I don't know what is.
    1. Flash with p5flash, which comes with our instructions
    2. Install flash manager
    3. You will see ovtune logger icon on desktop
    4. Thats it. Don't need to run flash manager or anything else.
    5. Use P5flash, which you get from the beginning, to flash

    The LOGGER.

You guys are making this way more confusing than it is.
Use the same program to flash as every time before, P5Flash.
Install flash manager to use our new logger. Thats it

Sorry Mat, I mistyped. What I meant to say was, it installed two programs. One was obviously the logger. What was the other one?

Your executable installed two programs, one is labeled "Data Logger 1.3.0" the other is "Flash Manager 1.3.0"

Neither of these work. The give me a VC Runtime error. I have Visual Studio 2019 v16.3.9 installed and up to date as per your website

One is the flash manager program for 3rd gen tacos, the other is the logger.

Eventually the flash manager (tune downloader for 3rd gens) program will house tundra files too when we have all of them.

Well there you go. That is the source of everybody's confusion.

You did not make it clear that the executable on your website was going to install two programs and one of them was ONLY for tacoma's.

So as I understand it, I should be using the OLD P5 Flash program and the NEW logger. I just have to IGNORE the program labeled "Flash Manager 1.3.0"

    Is that correct???

The download/install process of the new flash manager is definitely not simple. I also spent hours trying to get it to install and work on my laptop.
Your instructions may be simple for someone like you who is well versed in this stuff but for non IT people like myself there is a bunch of trial and error to figure it out.

Yes that is correct. If this is what's causing the confusion I'll make it clear.

If it's simpler I'll make the logger as a standalone app then.

Thank you for the clarification Mat.

Yes, its not very clear. It would be best to write a complete set of instructions for Tundras to include troubleshooting steps.

I used the new flash manager to install my latest tune. I clicked on the Tuning icon at the top and then clicked the P5Flash Utility from the drop down and followed the instructions. When finished it gave me the install successful notification.
Is this not the correct process?

Yeah getting the flash manager to install was a PITA for me. I had to reset my laptop to new.
Once it finally did install I updated it, installed the drivers and made sure my reg key was downloaded.
It finally worked at that point.

Either use the old stand alone P5Flash to install your tune, or update Microsoft C++ 2015 Redistributable (x86) on your PC and then both the new flash manager and logger should work. Be advised the only aspect of the new flash manager you will be using for now is the P5Flash utility...

Edit...here is a link to update your PC...

I think what may confound some is that we still need to go through Flash Manager to start and run the P5Flash Utility.

Yes...when I first opened it and saw only tacoma's listed my first thought was WTF do I do with this??? until I did a bit of playing around with it and simply found the P5Flash utility.

Ok, I reinstalled the old P5 Flasher and drivers and fixed my techstream stuff. Laptop is back to the way it was prior to yesterday.

Using the old P5 Flasher, I was able to load a 91 TCU Build 000 tune. Got a message saying successful. Started The Truck and drove it around the base (max 25 mph speed limit). The Truck drove great and I can tell its shifting at a lower rpm now when puttin around at low speeds. I'll be able to do a more thorough test later this afternoon when I get off work.

@OVTune I'll worry about the data logger after Thanksgiving. But I still have the VC Runtime error. Main thing is I got the tune installed prior to my trip tomorrow.

Glad to hear you got it installed.

checking your other messages it might be your x64 machine..although it should be x86 capable.

Please report on your MPG if you can

Welp, life and work has been crazy and I never got around to data logging. :-( Guess its time to get my shit together and get some logs done so I can get these updates. The trans shifting and gear lock only in sport mode sound like just what i have been looking for. Also hoping there is a little power left after some logging and tuning since I'm SC'd. Anyone with the SC notice some real power gains after loggin and retuning?

I will definitely report on MPG. I normally get 11mpg hwy haha If I can get even one more MGP that would make me happy LOL

So I'm confused on the x64 thing. I thought I bought a normal 64 bit laptop. Here is what windows says I have:
