My low tire pressure light just came on. I checked all four and added air to the recommended pressure (posted in the door well), but the light is still on. Could it be the spare? Before I pull it out, I want to hear from some members. Thanks.

    None yet
    It's probably a faulty TPMS

First - stock tires and if not did the pressure sticker in the door sill get updated? Second, yes, could be your spare, it was mine on my old truck. Finally, read in your manual, once you get them to the pressure you want, follow instructions for resetting the pressure rating.
The cold will definitely impact tire pressure....

It a new truck with only 1100 miles so I wouldn't think it's the monitor, but anything's possible. It is cold here right now (38 degrees is cold for Houstonians). I'll drive it tomorrow to see if it goes out by itself. If that doesn't work, I'll check the manual then check the spare. Thanks.

Mine, is doing the same thing. For 2 weeks now, and in fact 2 of the tiese were 4/5 lbs over. And this was before the cold snap. I checked my tires and they are all within specs. I will going to the dealer and let them tell me. Crazy isn't it.

I haven't had to mess with it yet, but does the reset button have anything to do with it?

There's a reset button? I just thought it went out when the pressure was corrected.

Make sure you check the spare as well. Im not sure about the tundra, but some cars take a mile or so of driving before it resets.

Did you fill up recently? Could be gas cap too I believe.

9/10 it's the spare if your other pressures are within the TPMS tolerances.

Hmmm. I just got my TPMS turned on on my new wheels and the guy at Americas Tire said my spare doesn't have TPMS.

I haven't worked for Toyota for three years so it may be different. But I'm pretty sure a full size spare especially a 5th wheel would typically have a sensor.

Try resetting it. I deflated my tires 3 days ago and reset them after I refilled my tires. Turn the key to ACC, press and hold the button located on the bottom right side of your steering column, the light will blink 3 times. Release the button and let sit for 5-6 mins with the key still on ACC. Should reset.

This is getting interesting... I did refill my gas tank, today. Hard to see how the two are tied together, but the cap is easy to check. The manual did say to fill the tires to the correct pressure and the light will go out after a few minutes. Will check that, tomorrow. FYI - I did find the reset button. Pushed it a couple of times, but nothing happened. Still will check the spare if nothing else works.

Gas cap will trigger the CEL. TPMS has its own light.

In the past, if you didn't close gas cap correctly, it would trigger low pressure warning. So one had to open and close it again. Not sure if that still works that way. So I threw it out there just in case it was a possibility.

The spare has a TPMS, when a new tire is introduced it needs to relearn for that sensor in which the reset set button can do so. What type of rims do you have? Alloy rims and steel rims have different TPMS. The computer can only read one type at a time. I When I bought my new alloys rims I couldn't figure it out until I did some research and took it to a tire shop near by and he confirmed my suspicions. Based on you picture it looks like alloy not steel, and I would assume the spare would be steel as mine was.

My air pressure light comes on every day about 1 mile from my house and blinks for about 2 min and then goes back out. I am thinking it is due to the cold weather 15 degrees in the morning. That's the only time it comes on though. It does it every morning for the last month.

Same here, I live in Twentynine palms, CA and the temp in the morning is cold, but after a couple hours it warms up and the light goes away, but be mindful inflating in the morning because it cold could cause the tire to over inflate in the afternoon depend on how much it drops and you fill it up to. Once winter sets in usually I will fill it in the morning and it will be good as the temp doesn't really affect the tires.

Breaking news!! The light has gone out! After re-inflating all tires to the correct pressure, I drove my truck a few miles and it went out. (Just like the owner's manual said.) Glad I didn't have to pull the spare out to check it. Would be nice to have the same feature my wife has on her Lexus - display shows all four tires and pressure for each. Maybe that feature is available for some models, but not my TSS SR5. Takes the guess work out it. Thanks, again everyone, for your help.
