I installed a BakFlip cover which required me to remove the bed rail tracks. What are you guys/gals using to relocate your tracks down. I was thinking of using some 3/16th flat bar, but not sure if there is another option out there.

    Thanks!

Did you buy from Bak? They supply them free. On the order page at most of the suppliers they ask if you have them or not

Just call and see if they'll send you a set. Never hurts to try. Just say you didn't realize you needed them

I wanted to keep mine in the original position but my cover didn't come with the hardware for the rails. I have the UnderCover Classic.

Still a PITA to make. But yep that's them. I screwed up and bought the long ones and had to saw the rails so now have 2 of those left over. A shortbed only uses 5 on each side. I'd still bet Bak would send a set for nada

I need to replace my soft bed cover soon. Planning on getting a hard one. I don’t want to relocate my accessory bed rails. I’ll make sure I don’t get a bakflip.

If OP got an MX4 2nd hand he probably got a good deal. I've only had mine about 45 days and it seems ok. I could probably spend about a couple of hours more playing with front bed seals and making slight adjustments to the rails to make it pretty much leak free. Tail gate seals were a big help. I put that OEM mat in and if there is a leak on the edges it wouldn't touch anything on the mat. So far it's fine.

To the op install the rail extensions before putting it on the clamps and stuff. I got the rails after and it was a PITA to work around although do able.

To be honest, I wasn't wild about the idea of moving the bed rails, and worried that there wouldn't be enough strength in those brackets to put any torque on the cleats. Since I've done it, I have used ratchet straps on them and they are really strong. The rails, brackets, cleats stayed put and I torqued the ratchet strap down pretty damn good. I'm pleasantly surprised.
