When you removed your original pulley, did you do it with the engine having not been run that day? I've read that this is about the only successful time that owners have been able to remove it while the blower is in the vehicle due to the shaft expanding and essentially locking the pulley on. Before installing my blower, I did remove the stock pulley in anticipation of removing it again after install. Seems that it really wasn't necessary to go that route, but that's the one taken. I reinstalled it with anti-seize to lean things toward my favor. I'm just trying to determine if I need to actually leave it overnight, or if I can drive it the mile into work to do it inside, or if I'd be wasting my time. I may drive it in to work this afternoon where it will sit outside in 40*F weather for three hours, but then I'd still need to fire it up long enough to pull it indoors. I'm also trying to not leave it inside at the workplace overnight, as that's kinda frowned upon and I'd rather avoid that conversation.

I had it sit overnight, but I was also replacing my coupler while I was at it so had to pull the nose cone. If your blower sounds weird and grindy at idle I would do that. Made pulling the stock pulley easy, and made pressing the new pulley on a breeze since I just threw the nose cone on the press.

But back to your original question, I wouldn't worry about it. I would let it sit outside (if you have an electric fan, I put one of those in the engine bay if I'm trying to work on quicker after it ran and keep the hood all the way open). I think doing that for a few hours would be fine. I also think you'll be fine since your original pulley sounds like it came off easily and you prepped it to pull again, my stock pulley I could not get off to the point that my big 3 jaw puller was ripping valleys through the whole pulley since it was seized on so much. I had to make a 1/4" steel backing plate that distributed the force from the 3 jaw to even get the dumb thing off. Considering yours wasn't that hard, I think you'd be fine if it's cool enough to keep your hand on. I'd be more worried about how to get the new pulley on since that sounds like a bitch with that jank ass tool from URD if you're not using a press.

I drove the truck the five minutes to work and the water manifold was only 60-some degrees, not even as warm as we keep the bays. Then after a few hours outside I moved it inside and began. I pulled the fan and shroud to make room for the puller and got to work. Got the new pulley nice and toasty with a heat gun and put it on with that "jank ass tool from URD". ;) I found it worked rather well, but then I didn't have another plan for the install. The only part that I don't know how I would've handled, was keeping the pulley/shaft from rotating had I not had a friend there to hold the belt type filter wrench to prevent that from happening. I got all the bits back in place and went for a brief whip. Time for a nap and try to figure out a little drive tomorrow, in the daylight this time.

I am will be working on several more today.

For people who have sent logs and are waiting on a new file, you will be receiving one more file update, and then after that the next update is once our latest development is complete.

Make sure you post in here when your new updates are added to the base tune. I am waiting to send you my ECU ID because I dont want to load the base tune until you update it. Thanks Mat!

I'd say quit waiting and send him your ID and get a tune sooner than later. You will want to log anyways and get tune updates then. It takes 5 minutes to load the tune and our ECUs can handle being re-mapped an infinite # of times. You are missing out.

My tune feels totally fine with shifting and power delivery and everything and I've never sent in logs. It feels way nicer than the stock or TRD tune did. Lots of bitching in this thread, so to counter that I think the OVT is awesome and I would be 100% happy if what I have now is the final tune.

I'm not bitching. I have several friends with legitimate complaints about the shifting in the base tune.

I paid for this product so obviously I believe in it.

I am simply asking Mat to remember to let us know when he incorporates the new changes to the shifting that he mentioned. I don't want to run a base tune that shifts funny.

I had 1 or 2 quirky shifts in the first few days of running my base tune. Its been good since then. And I also am still running on base tune. Havent made time to get some logging done. I also agree that Matts base tune is much better than TRD tune and BD tune. The only thing I wish I could have changed is being able to use my Tow/haul mode without having to use sport shift. But that is minor.

You are missing out on a noticable amount of added power and better hwy mpgs for sure. Yes, the shifting isnt correct yet. But it's not terrible. I still couldn't make myself go back to stock. It's just that much better.

    What's so funny?

I already paid for it. What's wrong with waiting for the updates?? Stock tune doesn't bother me. I'm only interested in removing the throttle limits in 4wd

The latest shift updates have been incorporated into new base files as we make them. Probably the older base files that haven't been are what you are hearing about.

Definitely would be a good idea to send me the ID, just make sure to note "please send me with latest shift development"

This next file we receive will be your expanded shift tables?

And the one after, will be the updated flex fuel?

@OVTune as if the Sequoia's weren't hard enough just to get base tunes for, mine is a special case with the IPT trans shift kit. Hopefully we can get it dialed in with logging!

As a note, really just the 1-2 shift is hard and quick shift, the rest feel better than stock but not too noticable.

I have the BD tuner currently set for performance shift and throttle sensitivity, and the pedal feel is more important to me.

Excited to start running the tune! Hopefully soon

@OVTune is there a reason you cant give any sort of time estimate for base tune or the hole OV tune process? After weeks of "I will get all pending tickets caught up and get your stuff done" or "I haven't forgotten about your tune" isn't helping me and I assume others to be patient.

If you gave a sort of realistic time line with some info I think it would help me and future customer expectations. If 6 weeks or 10 weeks or 3 months is the time it takes to get an OV base tune and revisions of that another 3-6 months till done, AND thats communicated up front than thats fine!

From reading the fine print upon ordering I had no clue it would take 6 weeks or more to get a base tune, never mind revisions. Nor have you given any time expectation when I have asked in emails and on this forum.

Maybe you are just as frustrated with ME asking for my tune all the time on this forum! LOL :annoyed:when you think I should know it takes 10 weeks from order to get a base tune. And thats normal. If thats my fault for not knowing I apologize....!!! :(

I do believe your tune work is the best there is out there! Just let me know some expectations and info and I will wait till then! Thanks Mat!

As soon as I can find the relevant TSB PDF on toyotas server and decompile the CUW file from S-Record format to binary. it's a process, but not impossible. My goal right now is to have everyone, including you, ready to go before Nov 15th.
Also I really don't think the forum is the most appropriate place for individual answers like this. It is hard to give any *exact* date due to the process involved with adding new ECUs that are not previously done or obtainable by the standard methods (database, etc).

It is not normally the case to wait this long but toyota ECUs are additionally difficult to the lack of a read function. So far the fastest way by far for this type of scenario is sending us the ECU. Without that, it becomes a easter egg hunt to track down the data from toyota or online.
