How did you wire YOUR aftermarket seat heaters?? Looking for ideas....

Looking for some ideas on how to wire and what to tap into for my aftermarket seat heaters....mine’s a 19 crewmax.......fire away!!!!

 

The heaters have a LED switch light and power wire as well as a ground(3 wires). I twisted the two powers together and connected them to a fuse tap and used an empty slot on the fuse box under the dash. There's already a slot for seat heaters if you look at the fuse diagram and if you don't have factory heaters its empty. Easy peasy. Whatever slot you use make sure its enough amps to power your seat heaters by referencing the draw the factory states. Also make sure that the slot is not powered unless the key is in acc or on position. Also never put a higher amp fuse into a lower amp slot. If you don't have enough amp to run front and rear on one tap use two slots. you should have plenty of empty fuse slots.

 

You could also tap into one of the factory 12v outlets except you run the risk of popping the fuse because the load would vary. Your better off dedicating a seperate circuit by using fuse taps and you dont have to splice your factory wiring at all!

 

I wired my aftermarket heaters both front seats and rear seats in my 2016.

 

Starting in 2018 there is no seat heater fuse on the SR5 fuseblocks under the dash.

 

Bummer to hear. No biggy though. I’m sure there’s plenty of fuse options after that. Now I know...

Well after I took it apart, I realized what a stupid question that was.....each one has a red wire, and a black/white wire. Quite obvious lol
