Am I crazy or did the early 2nd gens have more bells and whistles?

I "padded" the Console Lid so I could actually USE it for an armrest. With the Console slid forward, it's a shorter reach to the steering wheel.

Part number for the 110 outlet -
85530-35030. Been thinking about trying to add it with an inverter. I found the inverter part number at one time but didn’t look like it’d fit anymore so I lost the #. I try to keep everything looking factory.

Will someone shed light on the electric wiper heater option?

The Owner's Manual mentions it as part of the Cold Weather Package. Supposed to be a Heat Grid where the wipers 'park', that prevents ice build-up.

On double cabs it will turn on via the heated mirror switch, on crewmax via the rear defrost switch IIRC.

I would like to ask how you know about the cost of the glass. I know you broke one, but how do you find the part number? My son's 08 has the passenger side mirror glass turning colors. It's difficult to find the mirror with all the options because it's auto dimming and that is hard to find. If only the glass can be replaced, it would be worth the 240.00 in my opinion.

I ordered the mirror glass through Roman at Toyota of Cool Springs. Check out this thread, Roman will take care of you. https://www.tundras.com/threads/ultimate-oem-toyota-parts-thread.10707/

Man, to find a 2nd gen Tundra in a junk yard is rare, and then to find one loaded with all those goodies...!

I would love to pull that DVD system out, kids are much quieter on the camping trips with movies.

yeah no kidding, i check my local yards all the time and ONE time an 07 came into the yard. even before it was dropped in the lot it was ransacked. I haven't seen one since.

Those power folding mirrors with switch can fetch a pretty penny in the secondary market.

On a side note, this thread had me pulling on my console, nearly throwing my back out to find that me 13' console does not slide.

I love my 07 Limited even more after reading this!

Power folding mirrors are no longer available on Limiteds? That would suck, because I can’t get my rig into the garage without pulling them in.

Mine has all the above listed items except the rear DVD, power tailgate and rear 110 outlet.

I think that the power folding mirrors may now be a Platinum and up item.

Interesting. I have a 08 DC SR5 that seems pretty basic and the only stuff it doesn't have is the DVD player, tail gate lock, and folding mirrors. I didn't realize the wipers are heated, I'll have to check that out.

The heated wiper park area for the wipers is a heated element in the window glass just like a rear window defroster and is activated by the heated mirror switch. If all that was already mentioned sobeit, I didn't go back and read. :pccoffee:

I have a 2010 base crewmax, couple things I like that the new 2020 does not have, trans temp gauge, lights in the bottom of all four doors, storage behind the rear seats, dual zone HVAC.

Toyota added features up until 2010, then items were deleted. For example, knee air bag and in-cab headlight adjusters, were added from the earlier models. Then from 2011 model, they took away, as others have mentioned, lights on the inside panels of the doors and sliding console. They also took away valet key, power plug that stays on for 2 hours after engine is turn off, and ash try, and some others.

They’ve also removed the trans cooler now. There’s a few threads about it.

I have a 12 with knee air bags and headlight adjusters but also my 12 is a platinum so they may not have been available on limited and lower after 2012. I do not have the lights in the lower door panel though and I miss the sliding center that my 07 limited had

They did away with an external tranny cooler, it’s part of the condenser now but I believe you have to have the tow package
