    Hello everyone,

New member, first post.. help is appreciated and if this has already been posted I apologize - please send me the link to the existing thread.

I have a 2019 Tundra and would like to replace the head unit with an aftermarket one - I hate not having car play. My concern is losing the vehicle and driver settings that are adjusted through the head unit. Is there any way to upgrade the head unit and not lose these settings??

    Thanks in advance

@srb2nv The short answer is: Yes.
The longer answer is probably that the route you take will depend on what HU you go with. I installed the Dasaita from this thread:

I have been able to do everything that I could do with the factory unit so far. If you go with a head unit with fewer features, you may need to use TechStream or some other plug in device to change settings. I can't speak to that process with any authority, but I'm sure you can find more information by looking in to TechStream. You could of course just stop by the dealership too, and ask them to change anything you need. I'd expect them to do it without charge, but I'm sure that depends on the dealer.
    Good Luck

Seems like this is your first post, Welcome.

But yes Easy. I just did mine this past weekend.

Get Maestro RR + Maestro T02 wiring for Toyota. Maestro should be able to retain all your info, in the head unit - if it supports it will allow you to retain all factory goodies.

You can get as fancy as you want, money is just the limiter.

Also, there's a bunch of info on the forum as well.. like this one. https://www.tundras.com/threads/kenwood-dnx996xr-head-unit.51693/

And the really cool thing is you can change the volume up/down buttons and the channel up/down buttons to how they should be. If you want to keep your XM radio there is another kit you need to buy plus a small XM receiver that goes behind the dash.
