I was going to get some retrofits from @eldobleu. But i have a chance to pick up a brand new eaton h/p limited slip at half cost brand new but i need to have it installed above my skill level. Im leaning toward ls just because i do use my truck off road alot. Not hard core mostly loose sand and muddy terrain, but i do tow a tt quite a bit. Just looking for an outsiders view point. Im pretty sure im going to get ls wait a few months then get my retrofit done. Does anyone have experience with this unit and do you think its a better choice at this time

Depending how much you drive at night, you may or may not use your headlights every day. I have a 4x4 and it works great for me without the aftermarket LS. Think you may like the headlight conversion a little better. Flip a coin ?

Have you struggled at all yet or actually gotten stuck yet where a limited slip diff would have helped?? If not do you really think you will get in one of those situations where limited slip would be of assistance?
If no then don't get the limited slip.

I would do the LS over the Headlight mod anyday. The LS is my next mod

Whichever will be more useful for you. If you will definitely do both, and one is a killer deal that won't last, maybe go for the great deal.

@csuviper has a good point. Have you been in a situation in which an aftermarket LS would have made a difference? If not, how often do you expect that to happen?

The lights will probably be used more often, but may not be as important.

    Good luck!

I can say that slipping and sliding in snow and a bit of gas on the pedal, the truck does a decent job as it is to keep you straight in 2wd.

The tundra is my toy and only goes out on weekends. When i go fish, hunt, or golf. The limited slip is just to good of a deal to pass up. Im going to get both but think im going to do limited slip first. The cost is about the same for both with ls installed. I will just have to save up a few months after this and then i can get my retrofits. Yes i am in situations in the tundra where an ls would be a big boost in confidence especially when driving around in loose sand to surf fish and i think it would help when i tow my trailer.

Well there you go. At that cost installed I would go that route then too.

Picked up ls today. Now just have to find shop that can install it. If any of you san antonio guys can recommend a place that does good work would like to hear about it.
