Dang. If the changes that I requested are available (it's so difficult to tell), I may just wet my pants, for more than one reason! My wrenches await my caressing touch...

I will look into this and send you that new file tomorrow. It shouldn't ever disable on its own, and I've not heard anyone else have this problem

I also sold my 17 Tacoma and bought a 19 tundra. Tundra puts a smile on my face except when I go to the gas pumps. Lol

Gear Lock is only enabled when on Tow/Haul + S mode on the tune that I received. But somehow the Gear Lock feature disappeared or got disabled. I flashed back to stock, started the engine to make sure nothing went wrong. Then, I flashed to 91 Octane. I started the truck again to make sure nothing went wrong, but I didn't drive it. Following morning when I went to work I found out that it was still disabled.

When I got home, I flashed it to 91 Octane tune again, this time I didn't flashed to stock. Just flashed 91 tune on top of the 91 tune. So far it works. I just need to bring my laptop everyday until an updated tune comes out just in case it gets disabled again. Love the GL feature.

EDIT: My hiccups are not at all like the dude above me.

Mine kind of disabled when I was towing and the truck would downshift one or two gears on its own even with it manually in 6th, that occured multiple times at various throttle positions (full and less). If I let off the gas it'd jump back up to 6th though.

Haven't had that happen besides towing though, my only other issue with the manual shift is that it won't upshift under power and I have to let off the gas (for example set cruise control, go to manual and upshift to 6th and it won't change gears and I have to accelerate and then let off and it'll shift).

Are you sure it was downshifting and not unlocking the torque converter? there is a few hundred RPM difference between lock and unlock depending on the gear. in 6th gear, around 70mph on our truck it's a 300 rpm difference.

You should not have to let off the gas at all, just click the upshifter a little bit BEFORE you are close to the limiter. for example around 5500.

    ALSO for everyone.
Gearlock does NOT function when you have cruise control on. The ECU will still upshift and downshift as it desires

Is there any way to we can use gear lock with cruise on? Kinda sucks when on the highway and the truck shift down all the time.

So how does the tune help a NA flex fuel 5.7 with long tubes and 3inch exhaust? Truck has alot of pick up as it is, so does the tune help get extra power and torque out of it by data logging or is the tune really just for SC trucks right now? I've gone back through some of the post but mainly see SC versions being talked about more.

As far as I know. It cleans up air fuel ratios, timing, cam timing, shift points, torque converter lockups, throttle sensitivity and a bunch more things. Making more responsive torque in the mid range where its useful. You can data log your specific build with it to send logs back to fine tune if you have modified your truck.

That is exactly what I have a NA FFV 5.7 with Long Tube headers and 3" system. Running the OVTune definitely makes what you have much better !!!!!!!! I love it.

Besides the slow upshifts and it doing the weird downshifts, it seems to work fine with cruise control on. I can put it in cruise control gear locked in 6th and it'll stay there regardless how big a hill is even if the truck starts slowing down.

So on the one hand if it acts up because I was in cruise control that explains everything, but on the flip side it seems to be fine 99% of the time with cruise control haha

I got the 91 GL update this morning and flashed the ecu. Test drove 35 miles highway and city combined. GL on S mode is freakin awesome. Highly recommended for city driving unless your truck is loaded really heavy. Upshifts quicker than Tow/Haul +S mode. Thanks OV.

As far as the GL disappearing on the last tune, I verified a lot of times to make sure it wasn't the torque converter unlocking. I tested it on the freeway on 6th gear and also on side streets on 5th, 4th and 3rd gears. Not sure how it happened. I would have sent you data log but it wasn't working. The testing that I did wasn't even close to limiter. More like 2000-2500, pushed pedal quick but not floored, then boom--downshifted by itself.

Yes, yes I did. Waiting on a couple more hard parts though (dealer snafu in the shipping department). @OVTune (thanks man!) emailed me the base tune for it this morning, so when the planets align I can get everything installed in one fell swoop. Effing jazzed:headbang:, I wish that some days had a fast forward button...:pout:

You mentioned dealer, but that's an older TRD supercharger . . . ? What's the story behind it? You planning to install yourself?

It was a CraigsList find, removed from a hail damage totaled '15. There probably were still some TRD units available then, I don't recall. The fella I bought it from paid a dealer to have it removed from the totaled truck and he was sitting on it with plans to purchase a Tundra and have it installed on that truck. Has but 6k miles on it, the paint isn't even worn from the idler pulley. The fit-kits aren't the same for all model years, there are some differences between the 2nd and 3rd Gens and the engine oil cooler lines were missing. Not all models have these lines, it may only be the ones equipped with the Tow Package, which mine has, so I ordered the hose and clamp kit from a dealer and there was a miscommunication and a resulting delay in my receipt of those parts, otherwise I would've been wrenching on it yesterday and probably driving it today with the calibration that was emailed to me this morning. I'm a little bit ahead of the game though, I've already changed the spark plugs, fuel pump, and mounted the Low Temperature Radiator.

I wasn't sure if this was happening this time around. But your post made me think it had. Was this what you meant with s mode, or am I misinterpreting what you wrote?
