First time towing with the Pro. The truck being towed got more thumbs up than the Tundra. LOL.

Haven't been on the forum in a while. Put the Tundra to work last week and towed this gem home.

My good friend just bought a new camera and wants to start doing paid videography jobs so he asked if he could tag along and document the day trip. Here's quick vid if you care to see it.

    https://youtu.be/_NPSa3SMG24

The history and originality of this one owner 84 Xtra cab was too good to pass. The engine is currently being rebuilt. It was running strong but I figured i might as well do a good once-over. No plans to molest it. I'm going to get a good detailer to restore the paint, redo the interior to factory spec and throw some OEM-ish 15s with 31's on her and call it a day. The original plan was to build a BTTTF replica, but this truck is too O.G. to mess with. I'll probably flip it and hand her off to someone who is really looking for an ALL ORIGINAL truck. I'll work on another truck that's already been tinkered on.

Excellent truck for a young man in his late teens to have who would appreciate it. My father had a 1984 King Cab that my daughter drove in her teens after he passed away.

TBH, I'm not sure if I'm gonna keep it. I feel like there's someone out there who would really appreciate the originality of this truck way more than me. After the engine gets it's "refresh" I may sell it. Gonna try, my best not to dump too much $$ into it. My choices of a next project after the Tundra was either the "Back to the Future" Toyota, or a "Suqundra"

The original ones are getting harder and harder to find. Someone would jump on it I’d say. I’ve got a 1980 that looks like it rolled off the showroom floor yesturday that I’ve been trying to buy for 4 years now. Guy still won’t budge. But man is it beautiful

IM curious to know how much I would be able to get for this thing. The labor for the engine is going to be at least 3500. hmm.

Even if you were serious I still have a couple things to do to the truck in order to fetch top dollar. Dont know what the true value of this thing is just yet. I got it for a crazy deal.I If I DID flip it, i'd probably still be torn between purchasing another 84-88 22r/RE/TRE or build that Sequndra.

    Very cool.

My first Toyota, and Toyota truck, was a 1986 regular cab, long bed 4X4. '86 was the first year of the independent front suspension. That thing, with the 22R engine (it's offspring survive to this day) was indestructible. My wife killed it by bounding off a wet road curb and into a large pine tree. Had 168,000 miles and ran like it was new.

I see now you mention a BTTF build. What's great about that is, it would be subtle. It wouldn't be like driving around in a delorean with vaccum cleaner parts on it. The young kids mostly wont get it (mine might because they're being raised on the CLASSICS) but the guys my age (40) will. So really it won't draw too much extra attention, yet will be fully appreciated by those who recognize it.

Just do it...just because I want you to.

Oh it will. I'll be using it at my daily after the engine is done. Hopefully an enthusiast makes me an offer I cant refuse.

LOL to the first and second comment....BOTH FALSE. =P

I most likely will, Just not to this one. There's plenty others out there that I've come across that I wont feel guilty slapping on a bunch of non OE stuff. I'm 35. Not too far from you.
