No I thought the FatMat was good enough. Any more than that would make installing the interior back a little more difficult in my opinion. But I can tell you the gains I got are phenomenal. It truly is like a soundproof cab. I had a slight drone from my dual exhaust install at around 1800 2000 RPM and that is gone. Not to mention that I still installed the oh yeah I'm JBL system and that even sounds a lot better. I can't wait to get my audio in there.

Holy shit dude, that looks like a ton of work. I can tell from your pics you are a patient man and in turn a great father. I know I don't have the patience to attempt such a task, nor do I have the patience during it to allow my kids near me setting up a play house while I'm doing it. I like to think I'm still a great father and many would agree, I just know my shortcomings, and wouldn't be patient enough to tackle such a daunting tedious task, especially while my 2 boys are playing in my truck while I do it. I'm guessing boys and girls are different in how they act, so maybe it wasn't so bad for u. I have to admit, my 2 boys climbing around playing in there would be breaking everything I just did, and everything I didnt touch in there too. It would take my high anxiety of trying to do this perfectly and put it up over the top with their craziness. Kudos to u man, for having the patience and skill to do this yourself and kudos for being such a great father. The pics say alot about u and they're all good things. Great job man.

Oh my God! Thank you so much! Your post actually brought a tear to my eye. You are absolutely right, takes a patient man to be a good dad. And you're good man yourself just for noticing. Two boys would be doing a lot more chaos then one girl for sure.I am a single dad and I truly pride myself in trying to be the best dad that I can and involve my daughter in anything and everything I do. Children get ignored too much these days with technology and such. You my good friend have just made me feel like a million dollars! My Monday just got a whole lot better!

Good Dave, I'm glad to hear my post brought you some happiness from noticing. Patience has never really been one of my virtues, but I tell u what, my 2 crazy boys have kinda forced me to learn it, by it being put to the fire, if u will, lol. All we can do is try our best for our kids. Haven't met a perfect parent yet, but long as we make conscious efforts to be there and be involved in their lives, they'll hopefully be a step ahead the rest of the pack. Keep up the good work on both the truck and being a great father.

Easily the best part of this is the dolls. Fine work sir. Fine work. My 6 yr old daughter helped me change the brakes on my wife’s car. My son looked at me like I was crazy and my daughter picked up the impact gun. Go figure. Either way, good job Dadding!

I have been wanting to do this for a while Im happy with the way it came out just a lil decal but they make a difference I was on the fence about removing and blacking them out at first so I decided to try this and if I don't like I will remove and paint but so far Im liking this and only about $20

Me either! Why would you have to remove the whole door panel? Isn't it just popping off those little wings above an removing the 3 screws and unplugging the auto mirror plug? What year is your truck? More info please, as I am wanting to do this too.

I agree. The doll pic during a Tundra mod has to be one of the best pics on here. Kudos to the Dad for including his daughter during all of that. My daughter never wanted anything to do with my shade-tree wrenching, and my 5 year old son just loves to break and smash anything and everything.

Thanks for sharing your post! I am looking at doing something similar. Any reason you didn't use SoundSkins on the back doors and back of cab wall? I assuming it might be cost but unsure.

Also, is your Dual exhaust the TRD exhaust? I have drone on the freeway from my TRD and desperately hoping to improve it with soundproofing.

Yes cost was definitely a factor. SoundSkins is definitely top quality stuff and very expensive. And if I was trying to win an audio competition or something like that then I may have spent the money but Fat Matt was good enough for me. Besides that the sound skin is a real pain in the ass to work with. The Fat Mat was fairly inexpensive and was really super easy to work with. But I tell you what if you have the time and the patience and the skill by all means do it. It was hard work. Took about 40 man hours to complete the install and that did not include running wires or cables. But it made such a difference in road noise. My aftermarket exhaust Flowmaster Super 40 dual in dual out Cat-Back had a slight drone right around 1800 to 2000 RPM that is now gone. And it even made the POS JBL system sound like it grew a pair of balls and even hits a little.

A little of this and a little of that.
After wheeling in some serious clay-like substance (not intentionally) I washed my truck Saturday for about 2 hours and again today for another 2 hours trying to get all the mud off.

We had to go through this stuff to get out of where we were on the trail. If I had known how bad it was going to be I would’ve backtracked our trail to get home. I’ve spent almost two days washing my truck and shoveling mud off of my driveway. It was bad! Glad it’s over...

Looks good! And yeah, I took an old truck mud bogging once. It was a blast sliding, spraying and sloshing through the slick mud. But cleanup was too brutal. And if you don’t get every nook and cranny, gets more prone to rust. Never again after that!

I missed having a dash cam, and being the cheapskate that I am was not about to go buy one.
So I took one of the extra mounts I had for my GoFaux camera and made it happen.
The 3M adhesive that was on the mount stuck like crazy, but only time will tell how long it lasts. :fingerscrossed:

Put tints on my girl today, but can’t help feeling I should have gone darker
    Went 15% with ceramic tint.

Just picked up my wheels and tires from 02 Creation in San Jose. I had them powdercoat the wheels in Cement, but with a satin finish. I must say, I'm absolutely happy with how it all turned out. The hardware is removable, and YES. Owner Mike Wright and his team went the extra mile to make me happy and removed EVERY SINGLE BOLT on each wheel and then put them all back on once the powdercoat job was done. I slapped on some PATRIOT 35x12.5's (Yes I know their story) The guys at 02 all thought the wheels were not gonna fit but with the help from Milo at Milogenfab (about 75 yards from where I sit now) and Mark @dcsleeper408 with the Coach Builder shims and shackles, my Sh*t is sitting HOOOOAWRD LOL.

As I type this I'm in the front lobby area at Auto Innovations getting my alignment done.

Now for the Sh*tload of pics =)

I'm gonna clean my takeoffs up. They are for sale now.

BF Goodridge Ko2's 305/65/18 with approximately 10k of road time. 99.999999% pavement and taken once to Tahoe. TPMS included =) asking 1500 obo

I can split up wheels and tires, but will be last resort.

Will post pics as soon as I get home showing condition and tire tread.
