6112 Setting and Tire/Wheel Combo Thread.

6112's on the top setting and 5160 in the rear with icon/deaver leaf expansion pack. 275/65r20 General Grabber x3's on the factory 20's. Didnt take any measurements before hand.

 

Has anyone ever soaked Bilsteins in clear coat or wrapped them with clear M3? Cuz these look really nice when there new

 

Better do something with em. They look like crap in no time. Tape the shafts off and have them clear cerakoted.

 

6112/5160 combo. 1.9 setting with 1 shim on drivers side and +3 CB shackles. Ended up going with 275/70/18. Had the 285/75/18 on for a day, but too much rub even after trim. I wanted to go 285/70 but I got such a good deal on these I couldn't do it. Still really happy with the look and the ride. Might go aftermarket rims at some point, but not ready yet.

 

So,I just finished reading this entire thread to make sure I didn't ask something that had been covered already. I installed 6112 top setting with 2 shims on driver side and 1 shim on passenger side to get a full 3 inches of lift. Im running 295/70/18. As far as ride goes, I can't tell any difference, maybe I just care about the lift. But what I do notice is sometimes during braking, more so at slow speeds, the truck pulls hard to either side. Has anyone else had this problem?? Alignment was done at Toyota, and it drives straight. Any feedback is appreciated.

 

May just be from wider tires hunting in and out of the ruts in asphalt. Try it on concrete paving and see if it does the same thing.

Yeah mine does the same, steering is straight no vibration, i have 285/70/18 tires. Once i see wear on my tires im getting another alignment done.

 

6112 shocks set at highest setting. My next set of tires I will be getting something as close to 35s.

 

What rear setup are you running to keep from sagging loaded down?

 

only running 5160 with toytec shackle set at 1.5 inch. stock leafs

 

Sweet, I've got the 5160 in the rear as well, and the icon/deaver progressive 3 leaf pack and have a little sag with my setup. Gonna throw a toytec aal in for now to level it back out since itll stay loaded most of the time until I can shell out for a full custom pack

 

Let me know how it works out for you. I'm still thinking of a way to keep a level look with new leafs or do add a leaf.

 

Yeah your rear sags a little I would try the +3 and I bet you will get the slight rake back

 

6112 top setting with .5” shims for 3.5 total lift. 5160 with toytec add-a-leaf in rear with 1.5” lift and 315/70-17 bfg’s. I’ll get a pic today

 

Also sprayed them in clear coat and wrapped the faces with m3 that will be taking the abuse.

 

Sits pretty level with 3.5” up front and 1.5” in the rear

Did you have to get new UCA's or diff drop?

 

I had diff drop from leveling blocks. Still on stock uppers. Need to go for alignment yet, and go from there.

If I am doing a shackle in the rear, is a diff drop required? Going to be doing a similar set up with 6112's up front and 5160's in the rear.

Diff drop is only required for over 2-2.5” I believe, but I’m sure someone on here can confirm.

 

Yes it is. I powder coated the rear skid plate textured black to match. Was gonna colour match it to truck but the shop didn’t have the colour in stock

 

When referring to the shackles in the rear, you need is a carrier bearing drop kit. That's to drop the driveshaft.

Lift the front, then you need diff drop kit.

My 6112’s just arrived, assembled at 1.9”. I’m not going to add any shims and the rear will remain stock. I’ll be using the stock 19 limited 20’s. 275/65r20’s will need a trim of the skid plate from what I’m reading? Truck will also be hauling an 8’ snowplow on the front which was the reason for the level.

 

Thanks for the info! Just talked to @Coachbuilder1 and he squared me away with the carrier bearing drop kit.
