Ohhh that's right. It was an issue with the programming on some of the units that caused some people to have to tap an extra wire. But James got that squared away.

Yep, still going! Guess James is a glutton for punishment...

Works now. Thanks James for getting me going.

The truck auto-locks now several seconds after turning it off (not sure exactly how long - within 15 or 20 secs or so). If you still have the doors open (like if you’re unloading groceries or something) the door chime goes off until you shut the door.

Does anyone know if this can be disabled? Really don’t like it.

Also - anyone know if the audible alerts (the beeps when you press buttons or when truck starts) on the extended remote fob can be disabled? I’d def prefer it quiet & just have the LED light indicator.

Manual for the remote wasn’t helpful.

You can disable the beeps (both the remote press ack and the door left open when locking) using Techstream or Carista. You can pick up the Carista dongle on Amazon for $20 and you get a free 30 day subscription to make the changes you want.

As far as the truck trying to lock after shutting it off...

It never did it before, so I’m not sure that will help....but I’ll give it a shot.

I want to keep the auto door locks it had. When vehicle speed hits 10 mph or so, doors lock...I want to keep that one. I just don’t want this new feature of locking after turning vehicle off - I really can’t wrap my head around why Fortin would think that’s a good idea.

How’d you disable after vehicle turned off? There wasn’t an option for that.

    Auto relock timer I think.

That one relocks the doors if you don’t open them within 60 seconds of pressing unlock on fob.

Not trying to be mean, but have you read through the instructions or watched the video that James emailed to you? There is a video for another company that offers the same kit in this thread somewhere. Look back a couple pages and you should be able to find it.

The wires you have wrapped around the main module are for the TPMS wire splice that you'll need to do in the driver's side kick panel.

Well cutting into a wire is a bit nerve racking but got it done and everything seems to be working just fine.

I find that I visibly have to have a line of site of the lights on the truck so that I press the key fob 3 times at the correct interval between presses. Sometimes I press to slow and some times I guess I am to far from the truck in the parking lot and find the truck not starting as expected. I guess the phone app would be more reliable but wanted to know what others are experiencing with distance and learning the 3 button sequence to get more reliable starts when you can’t visibly see the truck.

I added the phone app and range is no issue. One extra plug to connect and then just downloading the app and setting it up. If you're having range issues I'd highly recommend added the phone app. The app will also show your trucks status such as locked and unlocked in case you ever need to double check that you locked it.

This does not work on mine - guessing it is trim-specific, like auto roll-down for all windows.

I've tried this on mine. I really wish it would work but it does not. I have to hit lock 3 times and not too quickly.

2018 install went smooth. i re-did the orange connection before i started since a few people were reporting issues. and i did end up having to connect the "white wire" with the black one in harness to get it to lock after starting. all-in-all went fairly smooth. hardest part was finding all the relevant info in this thread that's close to 700 posts now. Big thanks to @james@tech12volts and @T-Rex266 for putting this on, reading back through the posts today reminded me of all the BS you had to deal with to make this happen. THANK YOU!!!

here is some relevant posts/info that helped me-

EDIT: this one was helpful too

I have an 18 1794. Did the install on the weekend. Had to do the white wire splice to have the doors re-lock, which was not a big deal. Everything works but the only issue is when I enter the truck and insert my key, the driver seat memory doesn't adjust. Before driving I have to hit my memory button on the door to set everything back, namely the steering wheel. Anyone else?

Same vehicle and same here but I'm used to it now. Other option is to hit the brake, let it shut off and start it with the key as normal.

Yeah I get that, just making sure. It's minor and having to press the button is well worth a warm/cool truck to get into.
