Noticed that I have a creaking/ rubbing sound on my front end. I caught it one time about to pull out of my parking spot. I had my girlfriend wiggle the steering wheel and the noise was coming from the drivers side tie rod. Any ideas?

Check your lower ball joint for leaks.

I do not have a skid plate however I do have some leakage on the lower ball joint. I jacked the wheel up and there is no play. Should I add grease or replace?

I have a squeak which seems to be coming from my lbj. I’m going to try shooting it up with grease this weekend. If that doesn’t work I’m going to swap out my lca. I’ll let you know how it goes.

Update: I jacked the front end up and wiggled both wheels with the truck off. Nothing seems loose and I have no play or noise besides the steering wheel inside the cab locking . I turned the truck on, manually turned the steering wheel by grabbing one wheel and turning it with both hands(while under the truck). There is no hitting or creaking, or rubbing noise then. So then I lower the truck and have my GF turn the wheel. Once I turn left a bit that’s where the noise come back. So I go under the truck and grab both tie rod ends and feel/hear that the noise is indeed coming from there. I’m wondering if I should add grease to the ends

Those tie rod ends are not a serviceable part. If they were, they would be a zerk on the opposite side of the stud. However, you CAN grease them, but you must remove the boot and pack the ball then reinstall the boot. I'm thinking though, that if you have to do this, then the boot is damaged or the seal is damaged anyways and you need to just replace the part. Otherwise it'll happen again. If you replace them with a serviceable rod end with a zerk fitting, just add it to your grease schedule.

Are those ICON UBJ's serviceable? I know they're capped, but are you supposed to lube them ever? My old Camburg arms needed non-silicone lube every couple weeks or they'd squeal over bumps.

Had a similar noise from the front end. Thought my steering was going out! Ended up being my Uniball in the UCA. Add some Tri-Flow dry lubricant. Mine went away almost instantly. Make sure the uniball is clean from dirt and dust also.

Yeah, I did a big bear off-road trip recently and it was super loud. So I figured it was due to the dirt. I forsure will lube them up soon
