    No effing way.

But it would be amazing if it did and i would certainly buy one to replace the piece of shit in my $45,000 2015.

Why wouldn’t it be? Same interior dimensions and everything. It’s not the complete redesign coming. It will probably cost a ton though.

That would be awesome if it was the case, but as LT75 said, you know it would cost an arm and a leg.

Yeah but the hole in the dash will likely be the same size

Same reason the 2018+ headlights are not plug and play with the 2014-2017.

There may be a similar harness/adapter solution, or repin existing harnesses. If they add wires/plugs it will be a harder swap

Judging this based on the 2020 4runners upgraded infotainment which is identical to the current tundras. It doesn't appear to be very different...

Likelihood is low, and then you still have the POS JBL Amp if you have that system. Then the second part is how much will it cost? Factory parts are rarely cheap for that kind of stuff, and how many people will be ripping thee radio out of the 2020 Tundra if they supposedly don't suck now?

    Just buy an aftermarket

Not sure why you would want to put that HU in when there are a ton of better units out there that wont leave your hands tied to what Toyota wants to give you

Because a lot of times, aftermarket looks just that. Aftermarket. The aftermarket stuff ALMOST fits. Not just physically, but visually. You're creating huge blank spaces where the factory knobs used to be. The screen on your double din no longer contours with the dash; you've got this shelf on the bottom of it now. Not to mention, the pocket... OH GOD, the pocket. Radio pockets always remind me of people flossing in the parking lot of my highschool with their $99 radio that they got with free installation. EVERYONE would keep their radio remotes and spice grinders in those pockets. If you hit the gas hard enough from a stop, your remote and grinder would go flying and there would be herbs all over because the spice grinder hit the center console.

Now, I understand there are other options, but this is the typical thing I see with most installs. The floating screen is a MUCH MUCH better option IMO. The screen hides all the hideous. Tesla style screens are great, I'm just unsure of the durability of that stuff at that sub $1000 price range. I bought an android tablet for $75. Lasted just about the year of warranty. A week after the warranty expired, the touch started acting up until it no longer responded to touch and I was quoted $125 for parts and labor IF they could get the part. In the trash that went.

Agreed, I’d like to keep the factory look.. but if it’s a hassle and foremost if it’s crazy expensive then aftermarket it is.

Shoot, my oem stereo fits terrible like an aftermarket unit. Some 3/16 difference on the sides and sticks out on the top. But flush on bottom!

Hello everyone I’m new to the Forum and happy to be here. I’m replying to the 2020 head unit thread. So I got my hands on a 2020 head unit the connections are totally different from the 2014 to 2019 and I’ve been looking everywhere for a retrofit kit by camp 55 find one but I did find a company here in town (Austin Texas) called dealer source, and I’m suppose to be dropping off the unit with them and they are going to try to come up with a retro kit. I will be sure to let the group know what the out come is. D202037D-A33B-4997-9BE6-C90C5CAA43C5.jpgCE9A2936-D97C-4D3D-A5A0-C4F9F2FCBED9.jpg

I’m following this. Keep us posted Farnchez. I live in Houston. I’d be willing to drive over there to make this happen. Drives me nuts not having CarPlay. Tried the aftermarket route and was miserable.

Hi new to the forum but very interested in this as I was upset that these units came out a year after buying my trd sport double came in 2019

but looking thru eBay I found only 3 or 4 of connectors are the same between the 2 and curious if anyone has access to pinout for headunit to see if you can adapt or re pin?

The first picture is of entune 3.0 unit and second is of 2014-2019 unit

So since my last post Covid-19 has happened and I haven't had the chance to drop this 2020 head unit off anywhere to figure out a retrofit solution. However, I did get my hands on a 2020 HU with Navigation/JBL. The pictures of the 1st one didn't have the NAv. I'm looking to sell both HU and hopefully get some of my money back. The HU with Nav came with the connections. I requested the wiring harness because I thought it would make it a little easier to come up with a solution. If anybody wants to take these off my hands message me and let's work out a deal. Sorry I don't have better news. Everybody stay safe out there.

I know this is an old Post but who the hell replaces a factory double din with a single din? You would not be using the lower pocket if you did it right. Most aftermarket double din allows you to tilt the screen so contour isn't an issue either. Definitely to each it's own but here's a comparison. The Kenwood tilt is at zero from factory and you can tilt it so it not so recessed as shown below and matches the dash profile like the factory.

You still have that shelf/lip at the bottom because you can't angle the aftermarket unit enough. That's going to be an AMAZING dust collector. Also, there's empty nothingness where the buttons are supposed to be. Pocket or not, still looks like high school all over to me. Don't let me restrict your flexing though. This is just IMO.

Not true.. if I feel like going out to the truck and take you a picture showing you can tilt it way further than you think. The ddx9905 only needs to be set on 2 to be flush with the dash and it goes up to 5 setting for the angle view. I have mine on 1 which had a small enough lip to hang my finger on when messing with the radio while driving.
