The colors are different, but the pin positions are the same. I put in an amp with high level inputs a few weeks ago and that diagram worked for me.

I did 3, 8, 9 and 10 on J145 and everything worked well. I had also tried tapping the output feeds for the rears but ended up doing weird things to the amp. Using the signal feeds is clean and shouldn't muck up the power to any of the stock woofers.

I have a 2018 non JBL as well, and pin 3 of J144 is powered at all times. Whether radio on or off. Doesn't behave like a remote at all hence my amp is always on.
    This is frustrating.
After removing both connectors and shooting the wires, wallah !!! No remote. Not one pin powers on an off with the radio.
    Anybody???

What's your end goal here? And are you running a stock or aftermarket deck?

Right now I'm still on the OEM radio. Unfortunately both of my amps are staying powered on as long as the key is turned, regardless of radio status. I did use pin 3 as the accessory remote. Funny thing is that my radio is always running when I'm driving anyway, thus I shouldn't care.
    But unfortunately I do.

@TRDFerguson when you say it did weird things to the amp are you referring to the stock under seat amp? I am having an issue where I tapped into the speaker outputs and now my door speakers don’t work. Is this what happened to you? Will tapping the signal lines instead work?

There's no need to cut and splice wires, it's 2021, there's a harness for basically everything.

Does your truck have the JBL or non-JBL stereo?

This will plug into both harnesses at the factory amp, giving you speaker level inputs into your aftermarket amp and the speaker outputs to the door speakers. The dash corner speakers and center channel speaker are powered directly off the head unit

You got it. You wire up a line out converter.

A lot of amps will have high level inputs too. But a LOC is a sure way to do it.

James @ Tech12Volts can definitely get you on the right path, additionally, I would strongly recommend spending a few hours and reading through the threads here to get you up to speed on the workings of the factory stereo components and general electrics of these trucks

I see that the wiring diagram has output to speaker connections and signal to speaker connections what's the difference. Which cable would I use to plug into my lc7i?

Quick question have done many installs, but am perplexed by the onboard amp, do i need the harness below if I am replacing head unit and installing an aftermarket 5 channel amp? Been reading forum for a while, have yet to find a definitive answer...Thanks

People use the harness so they don't have to cut the factory harness off. That harness you posted makes it so you can wire straight into your amp. It has cables for input signal meaning the signal coming from the radio to the amp. And the other one is the output signal meaning those get wired into the ones that go to your speakers.

Also depending on the amp some have high input and low output jacks. If you go with one that does not have high input Jacks you will need a LOC to convert your high input to low. I wanted to keep factory stereo so i used the LC7i. I you run after market then you can just run some RCAs to your amps.
