Understood! Are you going to stick with blue accents or even main color on the next one?

Do you know if you have 3 tab or dimensional shingles currently? If you go back with asphalt shingles, I would make sure they don’t install the new shingles over the first layer. Some roofers will do this to save on cost and time but it adds a lot more weight on your roof. Do you get snow in your area?

I believe they are 3 tab. This is the original roof too. I would want them to do a tear off and put down an snow guard of some sort as we do get snow. I also need them to take a look as a leak has developed in my garage, but I think that is because the way the roof is made, the gutter is overwhelmed.

I would recommend you have ice and water shield installed. This helps when snow and ice form around your gutters. Here are a few photos for illustration.

Ice and water shield can be run along the edges of the roof and the valleys.

And I think I have that happening with rain. In heavy downpours, it has been leaking. I thing the gutter flow is crappy. I has like 4 surfaces going into 1 down spout. Part of the garage main roof and garage eave, front porch, upper story roof, all going into a 6' long gutter to a downspout that has a drain tile under my sidewalk next to the driveway. I was thinking about disconnecting that and letting it water my panting bed, but that is still a shit ton of water and its too close to the house.

Measure your downspouts. You may benefit from having oversized downspouts. You can also add additional downspouts to your existing gutters. Most builders will do standard size downspouts for to save on cost.

Looks great!!! I prefer mulch for moisture and fertilizing properties, (no dyed mulches). Rock beds also accumulate Mowed grass, leaves and other natural debris that is hard to keep clean after a while. I also worry about the additional heat for the sun (conductive and radiated) that the rocks will add to the plants. Some plants can handle this heat, except those from more desert like climates. I have used the weed block material before but have learned that it really is not needed. Most of your new weeds will be airborne generated.
I would suggest a combination, mulch and line the sidewalk edge with a decorative rock; maybe Flagstone or a Bull-rock.

Got our shed built finally. Had the plans approved over a month ago, but life's been too busy. Cheap, pre-cut shed from Lowe's. Basically re-landscaped the corner, prepped ground, laid rock, built the thing by myself. My wife helped a little when I needed an extra set of hands and with the trim. Still have to get it painted to match the house, but, that's more of my wife's department.

Will be nice to reclaim some of my garage. Been 2 months since we moved into a new house with the hopes of me getting to work in the garage more, but the stuff that was in our old shed was taking up most of the 3rd stall in my new garage. I hope to get the rest cleaned up and get to finally organizing my tools soon. Cheers!

Or you can get the best of both worlds. This is a new landscaping project I’m almost done with for a client of mine. Stone was done around the perimeter. Then stone borders around the trees and mulch inside the tree rings. 19029779-6474-485B-91DA-D443AF765CBC.jpg

I used a 3-way feed blend from some prize winning sheep farmer LOL.
I’ll have to check the bags for markings.
    The Kubota is a MX5100D - 53hp turbo diesel. I run 7ft wide implements.
It’s a manual trans, which some think I’m crazy but I prefer.

What happened in your back yard? Did you ever decide where the shop was going?

I needed to level out some ground in the back and use the extra up front. Doing a bunch of landscaping when I can.

Your field is amazing. I need that for sure to cover the bare spots.

You can totally warrant a tractor like that. I just have a little L2501D. Works for us, and mostly for snow removal.

We will most likely do a shop up front, I’m not screwing up my views. Lol

Something to consider also is synthetic roofing underlayment, like "tyvec protec".
It is used in place of traditional felt paper.

If you are planning on staying in your home for many years to come then the tyvec and water ice shield combination is about as ideal of an underlayment system you can have.

That said, the tyvec isnt a must have. The water and ice shield, though, is a definite for at least in the valleys.

Im personally a huge metal roof and radiant barrier fan. Not to sure on how metal roofs hold up to snow loads and such, but they are good in Texas weather.

All my roofers now use the synthetic membrane systems instead of felt. It doesn’t tear as easy as felt does, it’s lighter to caring the rolls and a better product. Metal roofs can still be done in snow with proper planning. In Texas metal roofs are great!

Don't use engineered hardwood, its not meant to be outside..
Use this https://www.synergywood.com/ for the grade 2 stuff its about $3.79 a sqft.
We used the grade two which will have knots, the grade one will be few or no knots but the cost is double.
Highly recommend the ebony color, we thought it would be black but its not.. more of a brownish black.. great color.

We considered beadboard but it was more than the synergy product..
