I don't even know if I'll go this route, but I'm a hoarder and so why not. Would you consider $50 shipped? If not, cool and have a good one ☺

2"CB shackles, bushings and 1 shim, lockerdown console vault, rear folding seat back mod, snugtop shell with opening side windows, 46g fuel tank, SDHQ sliders and hidden winch, Decked Drawers, Alcan leaf springs and got rid of the interior chrome
To lift the truck front end.
These shims are 1/4" thick and go at the top of the front struts. Each 1/4" shim will raise that corner 1/2".

I'm not smart enough to explain it. Several times I've had the control arm geometry explained to me but between my age, general lack of intellect and all of the scotch I drink any explanation would probably be wrong. Hopefully one the young smart suspension gurus will chime in.

Just the easiest way to explain how 1/4" gets you 1/2" of lift

. Coachbuilder shims are 0.25 inches thick but will give you 1/2 inch lift in the front. They were originally intended to correct the side-to-side leaning on Tundras (most Tundras are lower on the driver side). But some use them to give a slight lift. Definitely get the diff drop if you go this route.

The shim is the same as compressing your spring. The more the spring is compressed the tighter it is and the more the lift. If you look at a Bilstein 5100 adjustable shock, the clip grooves for the spring seat is very minimal compared to the actual lift. Oh hell............Yaaaa, it's magic. Hope this helped.

    See fine print
I thought the shims sit on top of the top hat?

Quoted from another forum, not my conversation:

    *QUOTE
I had the same question, how could two shims, which measure 1/4" each (1/2" combined), equal to 1" of total lift. This was the explanation I got from Coachbuilder.

"The shims do work a little odd

If you notice where the upper and lower control arms bolt to the frame. This is your pivot, from the pivot out to where the tires touch the ground is your contact. The area where the shims install, just above the strut assembly is about in the center of the pivot. If the pivot were vertical it would be a 1:1 ratio but is actually about a 1:1.120. hope this makes sense. 2 shims will provide 1" of total lift.

    David"
    *END QUOTE

There is another detailed explanation floating around I stumbled across once, I'm digging for that one.
If all else fails, ask The Man himself, David is a nice guy.

The shims do sit on the very top. I just used the bilstein snap ring clip location as an example. Look at any other aftermarket shock set up. Moving the adjustment on the coil does not equal a 1:1 ratio. In other words you dont move the coil bottom or top adjustment 3" the gain 3" of lift. Think David explained it pretty good. He's the engineer guy. Hope this helps with my original post.
