    @LOTSOFTOYS
I have a question, I have 2016 Tundra CM 4.6 with hitch. There is also looks like atrans cooler in front of radiator but I'm not sure. Does it mean that I have a tow package or not necessarily? And is there a way to check that somehow, I don't think window sticker said anything about tow package.
    Thank you much!

None. I didn't have those on my 16 Tacoma but paperwork showed tow package.

One more question. Again I have 2016 Tundra CM SR5 no jbl or anything like that. There is a box under passenger seat with wires going to it, what is that?
Googled it found that people talked about it but no clear answer to what it is. Some said it's aamp, some think it's SRS.

    Thank you!

Doing the first oil change on my 2016. The new TRD filter looks to be damaged, with some of the fabric filter material torn away.

I'm guessing it shouldn't have this tear. Question is, is it definitely okay to use still, or am I better off buying another one?

Also some green ink on the fabric material.

@Stig Get a new filter. I wouldn't worry about ink but definitely don't want a hole in the filter.

Definitely get a new one. A hole in a filter defeats the purpose of a filter.

There's only 1 hole I look forward to. And it's not in a filter.

Hey Jace, 2004 Tundra SR5, approx 185k on it. A few months ago I noticed the fuel gauge started 'floating' ie when turning or accelerating or slowing it moves up and down some, as if it is measuring the fuel as it sloshes back and forth in the tank. Prior to this the vehicles motion did not affect it? Bad sending unit, or broken baffle (if one exists)?

Hey Jace, a very simple question for you. Can you confirm that the 3rd gen Tundras use m14x1.5 lug nuts? Also, I bought a set of steel tundra wheels for my winter setup. Can you post a picture of the correct lug needed for steel tundra wheels (I'm interested in buying aftermarket black acorn lug nuts).
    Thanks very much.

    Hey Jace,

Im about to roll over 51K on my 14 Tundra. Ever since my Toyota Care went away at 25K miles i have been doing the maintenance. Oil and filter every 5k, did dif oil change at about 45K and also engine and cabin filters along the way. So my question is what else should i be doing or getting prepared for? I was flipping through my warranty and maintenance guide and it looks like oil at every 5K is the only thing to stay on top of. Should i do spark plugs at a certain interval? Any info would be great!

There is a baffle and this isn't uncommon. Shitty part is, it's difficult to diagnose because it's normally intermittent? sometimes it's the sender, sometimes its the combo meter fuel gauge.... if it were me I'd start with a sender first, maybe even throw a fuel pump in there while you're there. less to think about later.... then you know everything inside the tank is solid.

If u were to diagnose it, it's gonna take work. gotta disconnect the combo meter from the circuit, under the seat I think. tap in with a volt meter and measure resistance of the sender. then drive the truck . see if the sender is actually throwing bad readings or if the gauge is displaying good readings poorly.

Didn't the new Tundras have an issue with the factory brake controllers?

There is no corrosion or dirt on the plug anywhere. Everything still looks new. Never had a problem before when towing. I have heard there was problems with them but I have never experienced any. Well till I got this error and I wasn't even towing.

I'm going to take it to the dealer in the morning and see what they say. Just thought I would ask if this was something you have seen before.

I just did mine a few months back it is plug and play but you need to buy the radio with navi. Also make sure it's non jbl if u don't have that speaker setup. Entunes won't work with vin but there is ways around that.

Do u have the premium jbl package? If not then look for a non jbl head unit with navigation. I swapped everything in thirty minutes very easy to do.

Got the new filter. Didn't care to return the damaged one for a few dollars.

I used Mobil 1 0w20 advanced fuel economy, because that's all they had in the store. I had pretty loud valve train noise so I dumped it and filled it up with Toyota oil. All is better now. I'll just buy it from the dealership from now on.
