Nope. No way I'd buy a depreciating liability at 5+% interest.

Pro or not, it shouldn't matter when it comes down to your interest rate. With a score over 800 you should be getting a low rate. Some dealers may bump it a tad to get a kickback, but I would think you should be 2.9% or less with your score. Just my $0.02.

The dealer I have traded with since 2013 offer no incentives for the trd pro. It’s sticker at $53k no special interest or no interest no rebates. They won’t budge. They have 3 on the lot now. They will each of them in short time.

The 2019 tss I got in feb of this year had 0% for 72 months. I jumped on that.

I know on any other Tundra you can get 0% right now. Just not the TRD Pro, 1.9-2.9% is what I figured. I don't know i missed that!

I got a better rate on a used truck. I’d find a credit union. You should get 1.9.

So get a cheaper tundra, lock in at 0% and build it to Pro level. Makes more financial sense in the long run

Wait, so you already signed on the dotted line for a 5.25 rate? If so, how you planning to take “it back”?

Refi it through a credit union if you find a lower rate.

But, yeah if you already signed the loan that said 5%, you're on the hook. If they changed it after you signed then that's another story.

Rates are nearly 4% around here unless you can get a financing special (which the pro is excluded from)

Who signs paperwork without reading it? You signed it then got home only to realize your high interest rate? Sorry but the only way you will get a lower one is to refinance through another agency. That truck is yours. USAA gives new car loans up to 7000 miles that may be an option. I got 1.9 on mine last year

They say incentives on Special?? Tundras?? When I hear that hells bells the most special or one of the top special edition (if you want to call it that) has to be the Pro?? I don’t have s clue how they do that!! APR was no where near that,, Toyota offers better than
That or the financial person should have found Wells Fargo or someone cheaper??

Your interest rate should be low 3’s at most with that credit rating. The dealerships always try and make money from your financing. Do an app through Capital One’s website. They’ll do a pre-approval and give you a rate without doing a hard pull on your credit. You can still get a lower rate than they give you, but it will give you an idea of what your maximum rate would be.

My rating is 835. We bought a Sequoia for my wife a couple weeks ago. Two dealerships tried to give me a rate over 5%. I walked out of one, and got up to walk out of the second one. They gave me 1.9% in the end.

You’re buying a Pro, so you likely are paying sticker or close to it. Don’t let them make more on your financing. You don’t even have to return the truck. Get a rate and approval elsewhere, and tell the dealership you’re going to refinance away from Toyota. I can almost guarantee they’ll drop the rate to keep you from doing it.

If he tells Toyota and the dealership he’s refinancing, they’ll likely lower it for him. The dealership doesn’t get credit for the financing unless he’s paid I believe three months through them. Between that, and his CIS he hasn’t sent in, the dealership is still going to want to keep him happy.

    Do a pre-approval here:

    https://www.capitalone.com/cars/?PF...MIsZSch7Pm4gIVhv5kCh3jzwocEAAYASAAEgKo_PD_BwE

Anyone buying a vehicle should start here. They’ll give you a rate and pre-approval without doing a hard pull on your credit. They only do the hard pull once you accept the terms.

Their rates aren’t the lowest, but it will give you a starting point. You walk into the dealership knowing you absolutely won’t have to pay above that. You can check whatever other places you want to see who gives you the best rate. Having this in hand is invaluable.

I cannot stress enough to everyone to do this BEFORE you set foot in the dealership. You may think you have a good deal, but they will try to get over on you in the finance office 100% of the time. Know your credit score, and know your maximum rate before going in. Every time.

If you’ve already signed the paperwork, just call Toyota Financial or the dealership. Tell them you found a better rate, and are going to refinance. Have the approval to back it up. (Don’t bluff. They’ll want proof.) They will absolutely match or beat it. It would make no sense for them to refuse. Any amount is going to better than zero to them.

A credit score over 800 is excellent. Take pride in it. Tell them it’s an absolute insult to be given a shitty rate. Get mad about it. You’ve worked your ass off to be in that position, and they acted like it was a non factor.

You’ve probably, or soon will be getting emails from both the dealership and Toyota about a survey. They probably said “Anything less than perfect is a fail”. These surveys are very important to the dealership. It affects bonuses, inventory, etc that Toyota gives the dealership. A survey that doesn’t have perfect scores dings the salesmen’s commission. They will do pretty much anything within reason to make sure you give them a perfect survey. Back in the days before it was done online, dealerships would give free gift cards, gas, etc to get you to just bring it to them to fill out. Until you’ve turned that in, you still have negotiating power. If you’re unsatisfied, use that power.
