What have you done to your 1st gen Tundra today?

Feed the Tundra today. He was hungry after helping me build my Tacoma Trailer.

Lemon Grass is his favorite snack.

and on the funny side - offered my BBQ on C'list. Guy shows up to get it - driving a Sequoia - same year & color as my Tundra! Nice.
Need to mount the rear bumper & mount some Toyota rims (same bolt pattern!).

I remember it from first runs as a kid....we got to stay up late Friday nights. It was one of the shows that had attractive women nearly every episode...I was old enough to realize I really liked watching the pretty ladies...but not old enough to know why yet...at least not when it first aired.

 

It appears I may have wasted $50 on this wheel speed sensor. I'm still getting false ABS activation, almost always as I'm moving slowly with the wheel turned to the right. I guess the next step would be to inspect the tone ring as @empty_lord suggested. I may just wait and eventually order moderate angle CV's from CVJ.

Check the wheel bearing if it’s when turning. If there’s play the tone ring might be getting out of the sensors range

 

Added some zip ties to the evap hoses and finalized taping off the wire harnesses where they over lap and/or have connector braces attached where the OEM tape has frayed/dried out.

What do you guys use when even an impact driver won't get a stuck nut to budge? A friend and I tried to remove his axle nuts over the weekend and even with the impact driver he rented they wouldn't budge. Tried a breaker bar. Soaked it in Kroil. Nothing. Maybe we just need one with more torque? I don't know the specs for the one he rented.

Edit to add that the vehicle came from up north and has a ton of rust.

 

Breaker bar and a pipe. Have a friend stand on the brakes to keep everything from moving.

 

What are the specs on the compressor? Air flow is extremely important for an impact wrench. I recommend high-flow fittings. Do not use the small diameter coiled hose.

This one was battery powered. No compressor.

 

I'll use a 2 ft breaker bar with a 4-6ft pipe slid over the handle. if that doesn't break something loose nothing will.

The new ones are pretty powerful. Clearly this one wasn't.

Makita. I looked it up, it's reporting 1,500 inch lbs of max torque.

1500 divided by 12 = 125 foot pounds.

Got my truck back from the shop. I don't feel too noticeable a difference with the new injectors. But.i do have a fast clicking on the passenger side, possibly the rear wheel. I don't think it's a rock in the tire, it's too fast sounding. I think it's a bearing.

 

I think the garage gremlins snuck into your truck at the shop.

 

@Professional Hand Model 's math is correct... 125 ft lbs. We're talking the front axle nut, right? The torque spec is something like 250 ft lbs, and you'll need more than that to loosen one. My guess would be about 400 - 500 ft lbs would do it.

Put the wheel back on and get it off the jack/stands so the weight of the truck is holding the axle in place. Then use a breaker bar with a cheater pipe on the end. And make sure your pushing down rather than pulling up on the bar. That means on the passenger side, you'll be behind the front axle, on the driver's side, you'll be in front of the axle.

 

It's interesting that we both get our trucks back from the shop and now have NEW issues we never previously had. That's not how it's supposed to work.

 

Funny it worked like that every single time my parents took their car to the Chrysler dealer back in the day. Huh.
