    Hi Everyone,
I recently bought a 2019 TRD Sport CM and ended up buying an extended warranty for 6yr/100,000 miles for $2000. I’m planning to cancel it within the 30 day period. Has anyone else done this? How was your experience? Did they give you a better deal that made you keep it? TIA.

I was fortunate to be able to cancel the extended warranty during the initial purchase and I decided to purchase a Toyota Platinum with $0 deductible through Jennifer at Wolverine Toyota for less.

I bought the free oil changes for like 6 years or whatever it was. After my two free years were up, i decided to change the oil myself and cancelled this. I got my money back. To do this I went to the dealership and got it done with the toyota financial guy. The money went towards the principal

I cancelled mine. Pretty easy, and they credited the loan with the full price I paid for the plan.

I canceled mine within the 30 day window. I had to notify Toyota Financial and I got my full amount back in 1-2 weeks. No hassles, no issues.

Then I bought a better and longer Toyota Platinum Warranty from Jennifer at Wolverine Toyota. (It was called Elite Toyota back then.) Jennifer is the real deal. Dealing with her was smooth and easy. She sent out a price sheet and you pick what you want.

    Get a refund.
    Then ...

Negotiate for a Platinum warranty at the dealership you will be servicing the truck at.
"Give me a real deal on the purchase of the warranty, and I'll service my truck here" and yes you can go to ANYdealership for warranty work.

    I paid ~$1500 for a 8yr/125k.

So I go into the dealership to cancel the third party warranty they threw at me and tell them I found a better deal and they told me that she (Jennifer) is a scam and I would just be throwing my money away. Anyone have thoughts???
I’m located in FL would it make a difference?

Not a scam, I bought from Jennifer and received all my warranty paperwork straight from Toyota. Your dealer is the scammer

So before canceling my warranty, Jennifer sent me the Toyota Extra Care Platinum $0 deductible plans and I am shocked!!! The plan that I bought from my dealer was 6yr/100k miles was twice as much as Jennifer’s plan. What the heck!!!!! How can this be!

Do us all a favor though. Don't tell the dealer you're getting a refund from, where you're purchasing the replacement warranty.

There is a significant markup on the dealer cost of the warranty.

I had the same experience and after mentioning to my dealer that I was unsatisfied with the price I paid, they price matched Jennifer's rates. Saved me $1,110

Not the scenario you’re looking for but when I sold my truck I received a refund for the remaining warranty terms so about $370 or so. I bought a plan for 5 year 80,000 miles for 600 when I got the truck and just let the finance guy know.
He tried to put it towards a new plan for my new highlander but I said no it doesn’t need a warranty at least now so put the $370 towards down payment.

Well I had no intention on purchasing an extended warranty, especially since I have a lifetime Powertrain warranty. But y’all spoke so highly of Jennifer, I had to email her and see what’s up.

Most dealerships down here in the Southeast have it standard on some models they sell, the Tundra is one of them. Only catch is you have to be original owner.

If he is located in Florida that does cause issues. As I understand it Florida has their own EW and other dealers are not able to sell these discounted plans to residents of Florida. Same thing for Hawaii.

PS: mentioning to other Toyota dealers about who and where you are getting these smoking deals will end up getting them shut down. I suggest keeping the contacts information and name on the down low and by PM only. This is how another dealer that had great deals got squashed by Toyota Corp.

They are sending a check. Originally they said it usually goes towards the principal on my loan, which is what I will do with the check anyway.

When i bought the tundra, i got the longest warranty time period with the least mileage (it was cheaper and i only drive it 6-8k per year), unfortunately i bought one of the the 3rd party ones....and had buyers remorse right after about it. I new i should have gotten the toyota one.

I did get a lower interest rate because of the warranty (or at least thats what the finance guy said). I'm wondering if i get a refund on my warranty (and call Jennifer to get a toyota one), if my loan holder will have any issues (schools credit union).

Hmm: *Please see actual warranty certificate for full details of coverage.

See it covers parts, but don't see anything about labor, and says its only covered by that dealership.

That’s a great warranty on paper. Can almost be certain that you go in at let’s say 70,000 miles and are having issue if you have the slightest lift or even bigger tires they are going to deny your claim and say that it was due to the added stress. See this alllllllll the time.

Guys motor started knocking at 27,000 claim was denied because he had an intake. An after market product that changed the factory spec part smh

Oddly the dealership I have used for the last 6 years will only sell a aftermarket warranty. They will not sell a Toyota warranty.
    I passed when I got the 2019.
I may get a Toyota warranty but I know I will have to buy it elsewhere.
