I'm going to try this mod. My tundra came with bsm on the mirrors . I wanted to upgrade to turn signals and puddle lights. I'm hoping it is basically plug and play adding the mirrors and a switch. Does anyone know if there is any additional wiring needed to power the folding mirrors ?

There is at least one thread already covering this. I believe if your vehicle did not come with the option then you have to run the wiring(which wouldn't be hard at all). But with your trim level I'd be very curious if you'd even have to do that(is probably already wired for it). Either way it seems to be a fairly easy mod.

    and maybe

Best two I've seen on wiring/installing mirror additions. I don't know personally as I haven't done this, but I hope it helps.

I know I have seen labeled diagrams on this site from members about where to wire in folding mirrors if I'm not mistaken - hopefully someone in the know chimes in for the assist...

    Too many…scratch that…not done yet.
I guess we'll be rowing the same boat...
I've got a set of '16 limited mirrors (heated, turn signal, puddle lamps and power fold) in route, should arrive this week.
I'm hoping the plugs were already wired, and it will be a simple swap.

Where did you source these part numbers?
I found the switch part numbers to be; 84870-0C040 and 84870-0C050
The ….040 is for '07-'14 Tundras
The ….050 is for '08-'18 Tundras

As much as I can determine, the 050 may be for the trucks with blind spot detection? Or one was on the limited, and one on the platinum?
Either way, the switch functions are all the same; L/R mirror adjustments and folding.

Anyone know what/if any differences there are in the plug/wiring?

I got the part number from Toyota for my year truck with the options I have. BSM and the tow package could have something to do with it. My mirrors will be in tomorrow. I ordered one of those cheap switches from China, that will take about a week to come in. I'm going to mount the mirrors tomorrow and i am thinking everything should work but the folding option. Hopefully popping in the switch next week will take care of that.

Yea...I've looked there too. I have the tow package...just not tow mirrors.
I wonder if the switches are different for the tow mirrors (which I know fold) vs. the stock design with the folding capability (off the limited/platinum).

I guess I'll give one of the switches off ebay a go. I figure I can go through a couple of them and it be less than half of a Toyota OEM switch (which the cheapest I've found was $128!!)

Thanks for the all the input!!

    Did this end up working?

Sorry I’m new and searching the forum. I have a 2019 limited hoping it’s as easy as adding the switch.

    First, welcome!

Here's a link to the mirrors I worked up.
I don't know if it's as simple as adding the switch. You have to have the power fold motor in the mirror itself. I'm not sure about the limited models. I believe they're standard on Platinum and 1794. As mentioned in the linked post, I bought some Platinum mirrors.

You'll need to check the part numbers on your mirrors to see if the ones you have include the power fold motor.
The part numbers on mine were:
    Driver: 87940-0C440-00
    Passenger: 87910-0C420-00

I also bought my switch off ebay. I think I gave about $35 for it.

If you click on the above link, there's another link within that post that connects to another site, that has the "how-to" that I followed. That how-to goes over the switch you'll need (notice the extra pins), and the wiring and connectors that you'll need to build. The how-to post also has references to where to buy the wire and connectors.

Let me know if you have other questions. Good luck with it!
