    Originally from Va. Just acquired a new to me sr5 2014 DC trd off road thanks to my 2005 Sierra z71 giving up. Been reading the site about a week now and finally joined. Lots of great info here. Active memebership that is super helpful. Looking forward to learning more about my truck and staying out from under the hood like I had to with the GMC.

    So far my only mods to the truck are :
    Deer whistle (absolutely necessary);
    18" magnaflow muffler welded into where the stock used to be;
    Husky weatherbeater floor liners (front and back); tonneau cover.

    Next: love the "model T" emblem,
    Window tint up front to match the back windows, maybe a remote start. Keeping the stock Michelins until they *need* to be replaced. Then will increase to 275/70 r18 (just to fill up the wheel well some).

    But I love the truck. Not ready to change too much about her yet. Hahaha

    Nice!! That's my home town.
    I'll see if I can get some fall pics posted. Same with the torrential blizzards we get. Haha.

    The landscapers pretty much have the plow market cornered up here. Plus the truck would no longer fit in the garage and I'd be scraping snow and ice off of it every morning.

    We're about 2 hrs north of WG. We're essentially 25 miles from Canada. WG is a beautiful spot though.

    Awesome. Close, but not as far along 11 as Oburg/Messina. We're in Sackets harbor on the lake (near Watertown / ft drum).
    Having grown up in VB, any snow we get is still fun for us but I can do without the -30s and -40s. They're saying we'll get a doozy this winter. Who knows. Nothing the tundra can't handle I'm thinking!!

    Here are some pics I took in Lake Placid NY last weekend.
    NY wouldn't be half bad if they abided by the Bill of Rights.

    Thanks yeah. Cold nights and warm days and below average rainfall was what we were told.
    Bout to lose the "warm days" part this weekend though I think. Lol.

    Welcome from Syracuse, NY. Don't try running down to Syracuse along I81 when the lake effect machine is churning. Complete whiteouts along the Tug Hill.

    It is a lanolin based lubricant. It's good for a lot of stuff, but it does wonders as a undercarriage and frame protectant. There are a million threads about the stuff, but it really does work great. If I lived in a snowy environment, I would absolutely apply a few cans before snowfall as well as spring to prevent corrosion. Napa, auto zone and Lowes should sell it. If not, there is always Amazon.

    ^^^ This! I lived in Philly for three years and the winter roads were always covered in salt. I treated the undercarriage of all our vehicles every fall and they still looked new underneath when we moved. You can purchase it in the 11.75 ounce spray cans or purchase their kit online directly from Fluid Film that comes with a gallon jug and sprayer (hooked up to your air compressor). It's worth its weight in gold.

    I came from Maine. So the same amount of snowfall. Fluid film is a must use I put it on all of my families vehicles in the fall to prevent corrosion. I also went back under them on a warm day mid January or so and made sure it was still there.

    No doubt. Not sure anyone really understands until they drive through it. Nothing like anywhere I've been. And I've driven in blizzards before. The Tug is a completely different animal.

    Sure makes the snowboarding at Snowridge in Turin pretty epic at times for being such a small hill!
