FYI, Intent of comment was to help @Toytec Lifts manage their perception problem; figured they’d want to know. Apologies in advance if it seemed otherwise.

That’s just the thing we had questioned big time. We have had a ton of these coilovers go out the door with 0 issues, but once the year split change happened and a new spring / shock setup happened it seemed to have grown into an issue.

Very interested to know what off-road shop you go to.

Our wholesale department and support department are two different situations.

If you wouldn’t mind pming me with the shop information we can address this accordingly.

FYI...Their perception overall is quite good actually. A few valid complaints doesn't negate that perception at all. As I said, things happen. I think you would find that ToyTec is highly regarded here. Still waiting for you to name your off road shop. Fair is fair......

"circumstances would of been different if we known then what we know now" how on earth is this a proper statement of customer service after you sold a known defective piece. I'm at a loss of words.

I’m not at all bashing ToyTec BUT if the OP had the issue he did, tried to address it with ToyTec and was basically told to pound sand and then all the sudden they find out there was a manufacturing issue and some bad internet press they now want to make it right makes this comment by this member valid. Good customer service would have said “we apologize, bring it in and we will make it right.”
Just my opinion on the info of this post.
My nephew is looking to drop 5 grand on his Runner this month here in Colorado. I have recommended ToyTec by word of mouth on this site. Hopefully he will be treated right.

Sorry for your troubles OP, I hope things work out somehow. I get it, bought a lift, expected that lift, got a smaller lift instead.

This sounds like more of an Eibach issue than a Toytec issue IMHO, right?

I can't see any off road shop accepting used suspension components as a return. I can't blame them for that. That's not telling someone to pound sand IMHO.

I don't own my own business, but if I did, I would think if the manufacturer would accept it as a return from me, I would accept it from the customer. If not, egh, that's going to add up quick.

I'm sure it isn't that easy either.

    Apples to oranges but....
If I bought tires that wore horribly, I wouldn't have an issue with the tire shop because the tires didn't wear as advertised. I know the manufacturer put out those numbers, the shop manager isn't personally testing every tire. I would be a bit upset with the tire manufacturer. If under warranty, the tire manufacturer then handles it by prorating the next set of tires. Shop isn't out the loss.

Sure, but when you sell a product and advertise that it will perform to a certain standard you need to back that product up so, I think it’s on both Eibach and ToyTec.

For what it's worth it seems the problem is beefier springs to achieve the stated 3" lift. This should be easy to resolve between ToyTec and Eibach. I get the frustration noted here.

With your viewpoint, no store would have a return center. The long lines with Mullets would cease to exist at Walmart.:D

Hopefully this is worked out for you guys. My Toytec/Eibach kit worked very well. I got the full 3 inches and I bought mine back in October of 2018.

Nope. Not RSG. @Steve89gt and I have been privately discussing things a bit to clear the air . All is good. Steve made a valid point.

    I see your point.

I'm very aware I am not cut out for customer service, haha.

I do believe there are many times when a return is justified and the store/seller has to take it on the chin. I assume with a small business the line has to be drawn somewhere to keep the balance of happy customers and keeping the lights on.

In this case I'm neither the business or the customer, but I hope it all works out for both sides.

I don’t think they knew it was defective, or if it was a one off then perhaps it was a one off. They aren’t going to continue to sell product knowing there’s issues with them. What service would that do them and the customers? It would only negatively publicize them.

I too had the dreaded eibach/toytec coilover issue...

The single thing that pissed me off the most was the lack of customer service, the horrible attitudes to the issue, the dismissive demeanor and the lack of accountability.

I was told "not our problem once it's installed, Goodluck".

The amount of a$$ kissing toytec gets on here simply for being a vendor is a joke. They offer a product that is available elsewhere, from better companies that treat their customers better. They aren't a magic company. Quite the opposite honestly.

    1. When did you purchase your kit?

    2. What part of TN you in?
