Update: Toytec has contacted me so hopefully this will be resolved soon. More updates coming....

Update2: I've now resorted to PayPal as a resolution. Toytec seemed willing to be helpful on the forum and willing to bend over backwards but in reality that's not the case.

I purchased a set of Eibach Coilovers set at 2.5" , Billstein rear shocks, and Toytec Shackles from Toytec early April. The package that arrived did not include my Billstein rear shocks so I had to call and ask where they were; I'm guessing they forgot to ship them..no big deal really and customer service was prompt at getting them shipped to me.

I had major issues with the Eibach Coilovers not providing anywhere near the "approximate" lift that was advertised on the Toytec website. I'm missing about 1.5" of front lift so I had to do an impromptu BMC to get my tires to fit (should've cleared at 2.5").

Since I didn't get within a fair margin of the approximation I contacted support and long story short, they weren't willing to do anything for me. Nothing. No discount on another set of coilovers. No refunds. Nada. I even offered to pay restocking fees.

Edit: We (among others) now know that the product is defective. The springs were tested for a 2WD Tundra, not a 4WD (Toytec acknowledges this). You would think that this would make them issue refunds but alas nothing has been done.

There are several others on the forum that have the exact same issue with this product and you can ask any of them and they'll tell you that Toytec treated them the same.

I recommend staying away from Toytec altogether. They have a refund policy but it's only good if you don't install the parts. How would you know if your product doesn't work correctly if u don't install it?

I think at one point they had good customer service but apparently that ship has sailed. Now I have to figure out a way to fix the issue on my own.

There are many companies out there that have excellent Customer service and return policies, so I personally wouldn't settle for this type of service.

So you only got 1" front lift off that kit? That seems like a big product issue if so. Do you have an aftermarket front bumper or large grill guard?

Edit: looked at your other thread, that does seem like it's not lifting enough

That's what I thought as well. I fully understand that it's an approximation and I was prepared for it to maybe not be exactly 2.5". It's unfortunate they don't stand behind the products they sell.

I have no aftermarket bumper or anything on the front that would make it sag.

And in regard to the "other people" having similar issues; I don't think it's a widespread problem but it is happening.

I wish I went with them or the OMEs. I would've paid the restocking fee and gladly paid an additional $200 to not be fighting this issue.

There is an issue with the Eibach set that is currently being worked between Toytec and Eibach. There is another post about it.

Huh. I haven't seen your other thread to know if you posted your alignment numbers. I've learned that moving caster to +4 or higher if you can get it moves everything forward which negates the need for a BMC. I know this is asidefeom your point, but mentioning it in case adjusting your caster allows you to lift more (if the reason you're not lifted is because of placement within the wheel well).

Well it did say newer/late model 2nd gen. So I take "newer" to be 3rd gen. Even if the problem is resolved it's unfortunate I'm going to have to pay to have new springs installed and my alignment done again. Looking forward to Toytec replying to this thread... especially after how customers were treated.

EDIT: Also..OP of that thread has a 2018 so that confirms it.

I’ve got a 2018 and I’m in the same boat... my eibach’s aren’t giving near the advertised lift. I honestly just thought going with 35’s was causing me to rub, I didn’t think to have any reason to doubt the lift was 3”. I’ve sent David my info, as I ordered from him... but I’m kind of hesitant to believe there will be an outcome that satisfies everyone...

My Eibach kit from Toytec arrived 2 weeks ago prior to them pulling the of their website. I have installed it yet. Wounded if they will refund me or send me the Boss coilover instead?

I completely understand the frustration and annoyance this whole situation has caused you, I remember distinctly speaking with you and how everything was handled. I do apologize for the massive amount of decrease the front coilovers have yielded you, and others (see your other post).

@Ryan at Eibach is now 100% in the loop on the situation and are in testing of another spring to accommodate/ yield the desired lift. Their reasoning for the change in spring/ shock change was off the fact that the newer shocks on the later year 2nd Gen Tundra’s spring perch changed, so they modified theirs to match.

Again, you are not the only one dealing with this problem and the original manufacturer is aware of the problem.

I apologize for any sort of poor customer service or anything along those lines. Our policies do state we are unable to return installed product (circumstances would of been different if we known then what we know now).

If you want a different product off of our site or anything of that nature I’d be more than happy to help you get what you request, no problem.

Again I do apologize for the inconvenience that this whole situation has caused.

Things happen and it sounds like it’s being corrected. I don’t think this is a service issue, but perhaps a manufacturing issue that is being brought to light to correct.
It sounds like David is doing what he can and accommodating what he can to help

The service issue being that a customer voiced concern about a product but was ultimately told too bad. If Eibach or Toytec hadn't reached out to each other then the customers affected would be up a creek. Hindsight is 20/20 but good customer service practices could have likely kept any of this from escalating.

I appreciate Toytec now coming forward and acknowledging the problem.

But if customers aren’t voicing their concerns, then neither would know of an issue.

The most frustrating thing is the return policy. I couldn't have known there was an issue with the coilovers without installing them and at that point I couldn't return them.

Like I said about the shipping issue with the rear shocks..that was resolved easily and it didn't bother me much until I had issues with the coilovers; my initial experience was good service. I appreciate your help; I'll be in touch.

The ToyTec Eibach coilovers have been quite popular. Many sets sold to members here with zero issues. Things happen. Things get corrected. I personally know several ToyTec employees. Great people and they they drive Toyota's. Live and breath Toyota's. Specialize in Toyota's. Very few complaints here and on Tacoma World. Remind me to avoid your un-named off road shop....FWIW
