hey there! Just installed some 2.5’s. I read somewhere that I should give the coilovers 4 full turns prior to install. She’s sitting a little high up front. Anyone with experience with icon care to chime in. It was my understanding these give you 2.5” in height out of the box (I know they’re also a 2.5” body) and 1/4” of thread= 1/2” of lift. Does this hold true? 1.5” icon aal in rear.

Zoom on second you can see how much I moved the collar.

Thanks again tundras.com community for such a great resource

Max preload is 2” of thread space. Measure from start of threads to collar. Anything past that voids their warranty. They are supposed to be 2.5” out of the box.

I have a 700lb spring on mine. The 2” of thread space got me 4.25” of lift.

You need the 700lb springs if you want it around 3” of lift. The 600lb ones will not do it.

I got the 700lb springs on mine and they came set at 1" of thread. That's the max I was told without having coil bind.

They are built with the 600lb springs you have to buy the 700 separate if you want them on.

I have this exact same set up with 4 turns on the front. it does sit a little high up front but not by that much and it avoids the body mount. Which is why I will probably be getting 1.5 or 2 inch shackles to get the level back instead of adjusting down.

Do you have a pic? I've just ordered the 2.5 coilovers with cdcv and RR, and stated that gives up to 3.5 inches lift? I have no weight on the front end - all stock. I like the sound of 4.25 inches of lift up front.but if I get just above 3 I will be happy

About to pull the Trigger on the RXT leafs with 2.5+CDCV and RR to get that bit of extra lift in the rear. Going to have a bit of weight on the daily drive (Drawer system is in and planning on the ARE Overland Topper in the not too distant future).
I'm wondering if I need shackles?

Technically you are only supposed to have 1” of thread with the 700lb springs instead of 2” with the 600’s. Shop originally set it up like the 600lb instructions said. So yes you will get over 4” of lift but you risk the coils binding.

4.25 of lift means you have 0 down travel, it will ride like garbage.

Yup - sticking with the stock Icon coilovers/spring rate - will adjust for 3inches of lift, then move onto the rear with the RXT on mid config and should still get the slight rake stance - don't like a hard ride so will see how that works.
