    Too many…scratch that…not done yet.
Here's a pic of what I was referring to. From a 2015 XSP-X. As you can see, it does not give full coverage to the center silver piece or head unit.
IMO, it looks like a sticker. This is the only thing I've ever seen that might be available.

That said, I love carbon fiber on interiors...Hence my recent complete dash disassemble and wrapping here and here.
IMO, to get the best wrap job on interior pieces is much like painting, it's best to disassemble and work on the parts individually.
I have not yet taken a daylight pic of my dash now that it's all back together...I will try and make a point to do that tomorrow.

Tnx. The shifter is a trd pro tacoma part and the boots can be found on Amazon or Fleabay. So can the shifter for that matter. The shifter is a little under a 100 and the boot is cheap like 10 bucks or so. The shifter just screws on thread just like tundra OEM and needs a little shaving of some plastic tabs underneath it to get the boot to slide all the way up to it. Pretty easy. There's a bunch of different style boots u can choose from. Hope this helps.

Took me ALL day to do this.
Installed kenwood head unit with maestro RR and JL audio amp. Already had all the speakers from the group buys. It sounds soooooo much better. The bass hits hard and the speakers came to life. Also android auto isnt too bad.
Amp fit pretty well under the front seat. I need someone to help me tune it. I have no idea what I'm doing in that department.
Hit a few hiccups along the way but I got them all figured out.
Dash speakers all run off the head units speaker outputs, door speakers and sub are hooked to the amp.
Still need to learn the headunit but so far I'm liking it.

I'm telling ya, look at a sr trim interior. It's already blacked out. If ur handy then u just need to swap parts on dash. However, I warn u, it looks pretty scary how much u got to take apart to get to them, from what I've seen n heard. But once it's done it looks OEM bc it is and u never have to do it again. I found someone a couple months ago selling the whole black interior dash on letgo for 100 bucks. Was in NJ too, only a hr away, but I slept on it and admitttingly chickened out a bit on what's involved. When I decided to go for it I was too late and it sold on me.

U can get it on sites like letgo, tundra classifieds, here, online stores, or ut local Toyota parts dept.

If I'm not mistaken a couple guys here have done it too. It looks phenomenal when done but your whole interior dashboard is gonna look like a bomb went off in the cab. Sux u cant just pop off n swap. I'd been done it a long time ago if it was that easy. The rewards for doing it are great. But I'll admit the pics scared me from doing it. I'll live with the silver for now.

I got you guys. So I had a local stereo shop build me a box and put the sub in the box for me. I installed it at home. Should have taken a picture, but was so excited to put this thing in that I didn't think about a picture. The box looks very much like the JBL tech12volts box with the sub on the far side of the box. Keep in mind I ONLY installed the sub and I'm still using the stock JBL amp. It sounds much much better, but I can tell this sub wants to be pushed more. Even with the stock amp, I can feel my driver seat shake, where as the stock JBL sub did not. I will eventually install an amp for it later, most likely JL Audio as well. Had a booming JL Audio system 20 years ago during my honda civic days :transformer: and will keep going that route as long as I keep doing audio mods.

Looks awesome buddy. Love the features. Wonder if they all would be provided on my pro? For ex, my truck don't give each tires psi. I have a tpms in mine but it don't give each individual tires pressure. Makes me wonder if I'd still get that feature if I got this unit or something similar. I love the huge screen on the tesla hu, but something tells me your h.u. is a much higher quality and dependable unit. Not to mention more user friendly. Regardless, love your choice, really looks great. Looks like u did a great job with it too.

When it comes to the tuning, there's not many out there that are better than my boy J Taylor. He might be able to give u hand over the phone and if not, might be able to refer u to someone in your area since he's been in the biz since 19 4ever. Actually he's planning a cross country road trip right now and looking for people to reach out to him to let him know what they interested in doing and where ya live. U can tell him u want him to tune it when he's in ur neck of the woods.

Thanks man. I appreciate all your input on my other thread too. The maestro is cool. The TO2 harness was easy to hook up and handles the backup cam and obd hookups as well as everything else. Easy to hook up, all plug and play. I highly recommend it.

Do you have any idea what I should have my gains set at? Or the frequency filters set at?

I have all 4 door speakers connected to the JL fronts and my sub bridged to the rears. It sounds great to me but I'm sure I can tune it to sound better.

The jl amp has switches for things like decibels level and also input voltage high or low. Idk what I'm doing lol.

I like the Tesla look to but I wanted reliability. Can't go wrong with kenwood. I'd also consider pioneer, alpine, jvc...but stay away from android imo. I got kenwood cuz the maestro data port it has. So the maestro plugs to it with one tiny plug. The maestro handles the backup cam, steering wheel controls, obd computer info, and much more. Plug and play.

You would get all that OBD2 info on your truck too with the maestro module. My truck didn't have tire psi or any of the other gauges when stock. I went with the maestro over other options for the obd port.

You could do head unit and maestro and not add an amp and it would sound pretty bad ass. I had the amp so i added it but i almost didn't. Would have been a much easier install with slightly lower sound quality, and much less power for the sub but still would have been worth the money and effort.

I will hit up James tomorrow for tuning info. Hes such a great guy, actually answered a few questions for me today when I was installing all this.

Yeah just those panels on either side of the radio in the SR being black makes a ton of difference. One question....how does that shift boot secure to the console at the bottom?

This is a used ddx9902s. Came out in 2015, just like my truck lol. The newer ones are better and wireless android auto would be really sweet. But I scored this and the amp for $350 so I figure its just right for me. I figure this is worth around $200-250 used and its mint. The amp was the real steal apparently, some guys here have said its one of the best JL ever made and worth 400+.

Anyway I highly recommend a kenwood excelon headunit and maestro rr with to2 harness. You can not screw it up, especially if you don't add an amp, that was the hardest part by far. You'll be very happy.

Little later on this comment than expected, but there is a solid reason. You haven't had your system calibrated for the lift. The PCWS is designed to work on the truck in a certain position. Any time you adjust the angles of the truck the sensors would need to be adjust. In order for them to do the recall and it be effective, they would need to recalibrate your system. This is a $200+ job depending on where you are at and how far off it is. Next time you go see the dealer ask them why they can't or what harm it woud cause by doing the recall in its current state... then ask how much to calibrate.

My man, I'm already 1 step ahead of ya lol. These are the goodies I got from our boy JRT. Down to every wire, nut, and screw he sent in the package. Talk about a complete package. Hooked me up on a stupid good deal. Got all this for around $700, oh yeah, that price included shipping. I'm confident in saying all of what I got from him for the price is worth every penny, and it would be damn near impossible for anyone to beat that price.

I mean it's not an award winning competition system, but let's be honest, for that price, I was never under the impression that's what I was getting. Honestly, I wasn't expecting it to be even anywhere near as great as it sounds. The only thing I'm missing is a headunit. I'm not even sure I want to change it. Guess u can say I'm always looking for a steal but I'm in zero rush and may never do it.

I'm guessing my link 8 might be similar to the maestro your speaking about? I cant say I know too much about audio systems since this is the 1st time I've ever put 1 into a vehicle I owned. Then again, the Tundra probably had the worst I've ever heard in a vehicle I owned and felt this was a must.

I told my man what I wanted and he knocked it out the park. Definitely over delivered imo and the opinion of many others. I've had many people confirm, both from hearing it and knowing the specifics of the system, that what I got from him was a steal. This was all before I really even got to know him on any kind of a level. Not only that, but just as a man, he's a really great, stand up guy. I'd highly recommend anyone looking for any audio equipment to reach out to him. You won't be disappointed.

Not saying mine is, but if you're looking for some high end, one of a kind, blow your mind customization of audio equipment, when it comes to our trucks, he is by far, the best guy to turn to. I've seen some really really crazy stuff he's done for people, it truly is amazing work.

Trimmed my AVS low profile window visor: did not like the in channel style as it makes the window motor work harder and did not like the outer style as it lacks aerodynamic. Sorry the finished product is dark. OCD on my measurements.

Do it! Get yourself a kenwood and dash kit and get it installed. You'll be very very happy with the improvement. The OEM headunit brings down this system big time.

    AGREED!

I did the group buys as well
The dash speakers with center from tech12volts made the system come alive
Then all the door components with *********- damn!
    Still wasn’t enough.
Head unit made a million times difference.. adding the 5 channel amp, sub, and sub control, along with tuning.. holy cow! Amazing system and sound on a budget!!!
Looks great! We have very similar setup, minus the head unit. I went with pioneer, but the features are pretty much the same. Great install photos!

My Tesla radio has been more reliable than stock. No issues and use it everyday. Didn't need a maestro or any extra stuff. Meh, to each their own.
