Slapped on a couple coats of metalizer to see how it would look. Really hard to tell in pics. Ended up with a gunmetal finish. For those of you who have removed plastidip in the past (easily), you know that a THICK coat makes life a lot easier. While the wheels dont look bad, I still prefer the lighter look. I'll probably spray a couple more coats on each wheel or whatever remaining dip I have and it'll all come off super easy. Here's how it looks R/N. Photos taken after a quick wash. Love using my powerwash.

So I finally did the CB TRD pro kit, and put the TRD intake under the hood.
My most recent thing is give it a buddy to pull around! The trailer is empty in this picture, which is 3500 lbs. so when loaded it’ll sag a bit more but just how much remains to be seen. The empty trailer might as well not be there TBH. Until I look at the fuel gauge (gouge?) anyways.

How many coats of base did you do? How’s it matching to the body panels?

I used 1/2 pint of base (1 pint when reduced) it was enough for 3-4 coats. Color is REALLY close. It’s a hair lighter but that also may be the way the light hits. I used a standard grey primer. A better painter could add a few drops of tint and get it perfect I’m sure.

    Too many…scratch that…not done yet.
Finished my carbon dash work yesterday and got everything reinstalled. The little wedge shape pieces through center of dash (left to right) were wrapped in 5D (same on steering wheel, climate controls and lower aux. ports) Center dash (silver piece) wrapped in Sott carbon. For one last touch, I disassembled the instrument cluster and added some Sott carbon there as well.

Opposing weave patterns were alternated with the different parts, toward/ away from center line, and one another.

I'll take some daylight shots later today.

I'm going to see how much this will cost to have done locally. This looks great and would help me get rid of the little bit of chrome still on my truck.

Any shots head on so I can see how far these stick out? Love these wheels but afraid with width and offset they may stick out too far. Thx.

John I gotta ask. Don't get me wrong, if u look back when u 1st posted I said the truck looked great, and still does with the changes u made. But I gotta ask, does that mean every time u go and plastidip to tweak these that u are removing and adding back those million bolts that come on this wheel, plus having to do them too. Dude that seems like an insane amount of work.

As much as I like these wheels I specifically stayed away from them just for the fact alone they look hard to clean. Nevermind all ur going thru on them lol.

Installation for both the mirror caps and the door handles is super easy, barely an inconvenience. There are videos out there that show you how to do it, and they're only a few minutes long. Just be sure to have a set of plastic trim tools (must-have possession for ALL modders!!), particularly for the mirror caps. They will not honor warranty claims on the mirror caps if not installed by the dealership (a disclaimer in the description of the mirror caps on the Sparks site), but again, it wasn't difficult at all.

DIY pop n lock, 2018 LED headlights, morimoto fogs, TRD shift knob, DirtyDeeds 8"BAM exhaust, kenwood HU,JL amp, Tech12volts Tundra full speaker upgrade w/sub, Swing case, and lots of fluid film
I had to pull my back seats out to run a new speaker wire to my sub. Also had to switch the new JBL sub's impedance from 2 ohm to 4 ohm, )luckily on the sub from the tech12volts group buy it literally is a switch on the sub). I did all thos because I will be installing my new head unit and amp tomorrow or Friday.
Since I had the seats out I decided to put down some noico 80mil sound mat, a layer of closed cell foam and then 2 layers of mass loaded vinyl separated by more foam, on the floor. I had already done the back wall and floor under the rear seats last summer. This time I sound deadened the floor from the back wall to where the carpet splits under the front seats. It should really quiet things down in there. I will do the front some day soon I hope, maybe the passenger side while I have the seat out for amp install. I thought I had taken some pics but can't find them on my phone now. Oh well, I swear I did it though.
