Thank you for this! I’ll be saving this info and checking you signature out. Do you think a 3 or 4 inch lift would provide enough wheel/tire clearance without it rubbing and having to cut bend or mold anything?

That is what I was hoping for, but it did not work out for me. I also did not want spacers at all.

Dang, so maybe it might be worth just getting a 6 inch lift if I don’t mind not fitting in parking garages? I’m new here but wanting a lifted tundra and can’t decide between your size lift or a 6/7 inch lift. I don’t mind gas mileage, and I don’t care about sacrificing turn radius or access to parking garages etc. should I just go all out then?

You will have to make the call, I love the look of a 6-7” lift, but for me, I still tow a couple trailers from time to time and am constantly putting shit in the bed...that tall won’t work for me. Plus I’m fat and out of shape :), so I’m making a wise’ish choice in my case.

With the 295/70R18’s, I’ve added another inch for an overall lift of 4”...with that size tire, aesthetically I like it.

There are a few guys on here with build threads that have the larger lift. I suspect you will love it whichever way you go. Good luck.

So i would like to ask about this topic and hopefully will not get judged and blasted for it as some other groups do. I have purchased a 3/1.5 rough country kit for my 2012 Tundra. So the question have is if i go with a 20x10 what backspacing should i go with to push it just past the fenders and what size tire should i run to avoid trimming? I also have a set of 22 x 9's i could use, so if i went with them using this kit could i run a set of the 285/55/22 Nitto's effectively? Just wanting some suggestions as i am trying to do this on a budget and stretch my money as far as i can.

Is there anyway of fitting 285/65/20s on stock rims after a 3" front lift. I was told that I should be fine with not rubbing the UCAs if I stay under 11.5 on width and those tires are 11.2. If I clear that what kind of trimming am I looking at doing? Would like to avoid wheel spacers if I can.

Toyo A/T 285/60/20 on Ultra Motorsports Apocalypse (bronze milled w/ black lip) +18 offset. Didn't go wider to avoid cutting but it still required removing front mud flaps and cutting filet size portion of front fender liner. 2.5'' leveling spacer in front. Bushwacker extend-a-fender flares. Still looking for an excellent body shop in San Jose to paint front grill bezel and front bumper end caps (want to retain front parking sensors).Tundra flares wheels.jpg Tundra flares rear.jpg Tundra flares front.jpg

You and me both! Wildpeaks was all set, never seen a single bad thing about them, I know it's the best to go with, but some just look better.

I don't or didn't want spacers but seems like you almost have to use them with stock rims and a 3" lift to get away with a 34 or 34+ tire?

I'm eyeing 295/60s next on my stock platinum rims. I have 285/55s currently with a 3/1.5 & SPC UCAs and it looks like I might need spacers to clear. I have 1" bora spacers ready. They stick out far enough that I don't need to cut studs.

@TTU19 - Did you ever get this done? How did it turn out?
@Javelin - Is that a special run by FN because I don't see that wheel option on their site?

I've seen that in a couple of post about cutting the studs. What's the issue with that?

I did, but I ended up adding a lift after all, ha. I got the 6112s in the font on 2.5", and 5100 in the back at 1". I absolutely love the way it turned out an very happy I added the lift.

The .75" Bora spacers aren't deep enough to clear the factory studs. Those will stick out and would likely interfere with your wheels. Some wheels have casting reliefs but the platinums are in the wrong spot. For mine the 1" are good - adding that qualifier since everyone seems to be a little different.

Yeah I didn't think those tires were going to fit on a stock suspension. What did you do for the 1" in the back? (5100's don't add any height)

Yes, seems like most do. There ok, but really would prefer not to have them, it’s just a preference for me...always has been.

I'm guessing the only way around it is either smaller tires (nooooo) or aftermarket wheels with the proper offset. To make up for not having spacers, what kind of offset would I mostly likely need. Not looking for improved stance, just clearing the UCAs.

The past couple of months of looking around at different topics is that +25 to +35 is the "sweet spot."

Yes, exactly. With the 1" spacers and the factory wheel, offset is right at +35

I’d be interested in a confirmation as well. Specifically, in my case with the Cooper Discover AT3 XLT. :oldglory:
