    Hey guys,

I know there is a ton of "Will 35s fit!" Threads but I typically only see people running 3/1 kits asking. I am asking because I am only running a 3" lift in the front. My rear is stock height. From what I can see a 35 will fit no problem on a stock rear and lift front but figured rather than screwing around with a tire shop I will ask everyone here.

Just for anyone curious I run 18x9 Method Double Standards and I am jumping up from 305x65x18 Falken Wildpeaks to 35x12.50x18 either KO2s or Ridge Grapplers. Still in a toss up. Leary of the KO2 cause from what I have seen from friends BFG wear extremely fast.

I just put 35x12.50r20's on mine after installing a Low Range Offroad 3/1 lift. The 35's would have easily fit on the rear without the rear blocks. The top of the wheel wells and the mud flaps aren't even close to the tires.

As you probably know the front is another story entirely.

    See fine print
How do those 305/65/18 wildpeaks fit and how do you like them? Did you have to do anything to make them fit with not rubbing?

You have more pics? Side profile shot maybe?

I'm about to get those tires.

I have BFG KO2 on my SUV, they are fine but throw rocks everywhere. I have the Toyo R/T on the tundra and they are great. Check Toyo brand.

Perfect! Thanks for the info. I figure I may rub the skid in the front but I will cut that. I hear thats typically the only issue rubbing wise with 3" in the front.

They never rubbed and I actually really enjoyed them and I got about 45000 miles out of them which is the best Ive ever gotten out of tires. They are completely worn down but the way they are design they dont have much traction left in them. I will see what photos I have I can send you.
I have been consider the R/T's but have found way better deals on the KO2 and Ridge Grappler as of now. But I haven't completely ruled the Toyos out. I figured since Toyo owns Nitto the Ridge Grapplers would be a pretty good choice.

The 295/70/18 Ridge Grapplers are only $297 a tire on Discount Tire Direct. That's quite a bit cheaper than I thought they'd be actually.

Really?! Ive heard most guys with 3" lifts clear the cab mount with 35s. Most have said its the skid plate that gets in the way.

for street driving you'll probably be ok but full turn and full compression you'll probably rub. Depends if you off road a lot or not.

Offroading is typically nothing more than fooling around on some flat trails out in the desert. Try not to do too much offroading with it. I figured I should be ok (fingers crossed).

    IMG_5446.jpg Hey guys,

I have 3" rough county leveling kit with stock rear. 1.5" bora spacers with 35x12.50x20 I didn't have to cut the body mount but the tires were used when I put them on. I might have to cut the body mount if I get new tires.

Does anyone know if 35x12.50 with a 20x12 inch rim would work on a 3" lift?

My wheels are 20x9's with 20mm offset (5 for $400 on craigslist). Stock rims are 8" wide with a 60 mm offset so that gives the inboard edge of my rim about 1" more clearance from the suspension components and skid plate. My tires are 35x12.50r20 General Grabber AT2s (4 new for $600 at a garage sale). I think they are actually 34.8" tall according to the specs.

With the LRO 3/1 lift ($170 on craigslist) and the wheels and tires the front tires don't rub anywhere so long as the wheels are straight. When I'm moving forward or stationary and turn left or right the outboard edge of the tires rub the front of the fender wells and the inboard edge rubs the skid plate. When I reverse and turn the outboard edge of the tire rubs the mud flap where it covers the body mount (or the body mount itself if the mud flap is off).

I've already moved the bottom, front of the wheel wells foreward and bent the skid plate for enough clearance so now I don't rub at full lock anymore so long as I'm in drive or park. To get enough clearance for driving in reverse I'm going to be doing the body mount chop using my angle grinder with a cutting disc and my neighbor's mig welder. I've got everything that I need except clear weather in Western Washington.

You're going to have to be careful on your wheel offset with a 12" wide rim, but since the tire width is the same as mine it should be possible.

On another note, unless you are going for a specific sidewall look on your tires then 12" wide rims are totally unnecessary for 35x12.50s. You also don't have to worry as much about accidental curb rash on your wheels if your wheel width is narrower than your tire tread width.

The tire specs will tell you what the min and max wheel widths are, but I think you'll be spending more money than you need to with 20x12's instead of 20x9's or 20x10's. Just my opinion. No problem if you don't agree.

Is it pretty common that 35s rub the cab mount? I read so many stories about guys only having rubbing at the plastic fender well and the skid plate. Most have said the cab mount wasnt a issue. I want to avoid doing a cab chop.

I don't hit the cab mount unless I'm driving in reverse and turning. I can turn to full lock when I'm driving forward or sitting still without hitting the cab mount.

A higher lift would probably resolve it, but I already drag my antenna on the parking garage ceiling at work so a 3/1 lift with 35's is the highest I can go.

I'd have to take some measurements and do some trig, but there is a slim possibility that more positive offset on the wheels would allow you to clear the body mount for street driving, but that would just make bigger clearance problems with the skid plate and maybe the sway bar at full lock. It also may still not give you enough clearance for turning when the suspension is compressed (speed bumps, minimum maintenance dirt roads, offroading, etc.).

Appearances can be deceiving when the front wheels are straight. Here's what the clearance looks like on mine for the back of the front tires. The outer edge of the tire hits the cab mount like I've said so I'll be chopping the cab mount as soon as the weather and family schedule permits.

Well went to the tire shop 35" ko2 rubbed the cab mount (as some of you warned). So bit the bullet chopped the cab and here you go! Super pumped with the outcome !

it looks sweet man! next set of rubber for me will likely be a couple of steps up from the 285/55/20's i'm currently running. did you look into a hypertech to get those shift points back in line?

All I am running is a 3" spacer up front. Everything else on my truck suspension wise is stock.
