Looking to see some images of the eBay specials. My oem headlights are getting foggy and I’d rather just replace them then try and clean them up. I’ve seen a few on eBay I like but not sure the quality. Main thing I see is the bulbs that come with the kits are trash and usually have to be replaced. Show me what you got

    Thanks,
    Bruce

Had good results with Mcguire' s Heavy duty headlight restore kit. Hearing if ready for replacement, best go OEM than Aftermarket,

So I have tried the restore kits, it works for a month or two. I park in the garage too. I then went the after market route, and realized they are all crap. The set I got looked cool was supposed to be Spyder, but when I installed them the low beam was aimed too high. Tried adjusting but wouldn't go any lower, it would go slightly higher. I looked at a bunch of different models, but none had good enough reviews. I ended up just getting new replacements from @Roman at Cool Springs Toyota, they are expensive but so are the good after market ones with so so reviews. There are a lot of people on here that like their after market lights. I think I just got a bad pair, but I wasn't the only one according to reviews I read. Be prepared to return them, so verify the sellers return policy. I didn't and now have a bad set of lights sitting in my garage.

If you clean them up you need to clear coat them or they will fog back to how they were in a couple months....I’d stay away from any aftermarket lights other than depo oem replacements.

Honestly the headlight restore kits are snake oil. Just wet sand your headlights, polish them and then clear coat them. Or buy new OEM.

I also really like this idea and your blue would look cool this way also. Stock head lights painted color match inside .Screenshot_2019-01-14-21-10-06.jpg

Just remember, with most aftermarket headlights you will loose the ability to adjust them from inside the cab. I tried to swap the motors to new ones with my 2010 and it didn’t work. Gave up and replaced with oem and did the bhlm.

I have the headlights from this kit and they are adjustable. The tail lights I threw away because the LEDs stopped working in just a few months and put on stock replacements from Ebay. The headlights are pretty good imo never have leaked or anything.

Added these eyelids from Ebay also

I'd go Spyder if I could do it all over. I do have Spyder stock fog kit though.

I've done many fogged headlights with buffing compound and a professional ROTARY buffer (I'm a boat owner so such equipment is essential), it takes only a few minutes but you have to be careful not to rub the paint off of surrounding areas (Did that once too). I'll bet you could stop by any mom & pop body shop on a slower day or around lunch time and they'd do it right on the spot for $20 or so...doesn't hurt to ask!

See I do like these. Any problems with them? I would replace the bulbs with led’s up front immediately

What do you guys mean by they are adjustable or not adjustable? I don’t believe I’ve ever adjusted my lights?

Be careful w/the eBay headlights/tail lights. The vast majority of them are just Chinese junk. Spyders are hit and miss. I've never had any luck w/them. Winjets are junk, but some people have had luck w/Autosaver (I think that's the name) if you can find them. Most of us have just upgraded to the 2018 Toyota LED headlights or are waiting on the Morimoto headlights to come out.

Solid so far. They are take offs from another member who went with sequoia upgrade. So between him and me they’ve got a solid year + of use and everything is great. I was super skeptical too but hey, for less than $200, it was worth a shot. They are dry, leveled and made the truck look way newer. I’ll never be giving up my stock headlights tho...just in case

Yeah, they're pretty bad ass looking IMO too. If I hadn't already upgraded I'd be all over it. There are a couple of threads floating around the forums.

I haven’t had any issues with them at all. The build quality is good. The only pain is getting them leveled on the gen 2, as the vertical adjuster is very hard to get to. I had to pull the lights to adjust, rinse, repeat to get it. But that is pretty easy. I’m going to run them until a bulb burns out then decide if I want to upgrade the bulbs. So far the output seems about on par with stock. High beams are better though. I’ll probably put some piaa bulbs in before LED but that is just my preference.
