I'm pretty set on a 3" front / 1" rear lift. I know there are other routes, but this will be all highway just for looks, no towing and on a budget. I've read rave reviews for LRO but have also seen where people like Supreme Suspension as well. Both match up closely, billet aluminum, etc., but a good bit difference in pricing.

Anyone familiar with Supreme Suspension? Any deciding factors between the two that would make you lean one way or the other? Thanks.

Tbh Ive never heard of either one of those. Search this forum and check out toytec's website. Even if you dont go offroad I would be very skeptical of putting a random lift from a company that doesnt have any sort of reputation with Tundra owners.

Forum members also get a discount at toytec, and they sell brands other than their own as well.

I'd definitely go with a reputable company. Even better, go with bilsteins. Not much money but better all around product.

Or go with toytecs in shock spacers. Safer than on top spacers.

Or save up some cash and get coilovers.

LRO - Low Range Off-Road. Just about every thread I'm come across is promoting LRO, supposed to be the best out there along with Toytecs. Actually, seen where Tundra owners go with LRO over the Toytecs.

Going to have to check out the shock spacers.

I've been doing some research on the LRO kit and it's the best out there as far as on the top of the shock spacer do to the way the studs are fastened to the spacer. Their kit also comes with the 1" rear block that is tapered to help the rear drive shaft angle.

The ToyTec kit is nice as well but the spacer goes between the top hat and the spring which compresses the spring which makes the ride a bit more harsh and stiff.

Ultimately the best route is a new set of shocks whether the 5100's, 6112's or a new coilover set but it all comes down to personal preference. If it just a street truck then I would think a set of spacers which sit on top of the shock would be fine. There are plenty of them on the road and sitting on dealer lots with this very thing and I've never heard of any issues.

Yea, everything I read was that LRO was the best kit out there. I came across the Supreme Suspension kit and looks very similar and about $100+ less. Those that used it said it was the same just less expensive. Lifetime warranty, etc.

I've always wondered about those trucks on the dealer lots, if that is what they went with. I've seen post about having the kits put on at dealerships as an option or purchase with them. Seems if dealers are going this route, then it must be okay?

I've looked into the 5100s but would not give me the rise that I need and everyone says it's a harsher ride quality.

I was in the same boat as you. I went with LRO just because of their track record. I know the spacer is aluminum but what I'd be worried about are the studs. If Supreme goes cheap on the studs it can sheer off causing an accident and damage to your vehicle. I should be getting mine installed on the next week or two. Hopefully my ride will be nice still.

Definitely something I'm going to have to look into. Another thing is whether the rear block is angled or not. Wouldn't seem at an inch it would matter, but don't think it could hurt either.

You doing install yourself? If not, how much does it run if you don't mind me asking. You going front and rear or just front?

I actually just bought the front from LRO.
I got CB+3 for the rears.
A friend will be doing the install.

If you want just the fronts, email LRO and they will adjust he price. Hope that helps. I prefer shackles over blacks.

Yeah, I spoke to one of the sales guys and said they he would break it up if I only needed the front. Or I could order the kit and return the rear if I didn't use. Not sure, once I put on the front 3" that I will need the rear. Right now I have about a 3.5" rake, so gonna look and see.

I thought about going with shackles but since maybe only going 1" thought blocks would work. It's all highway miles.

If you have any side pre pics and then some post, would love to see.

Sounds like you have done your research. If other Tundra owners run them without problems and your goal is just for looks Id say go for it and keep us posted how it turns out for ya. Just a fyi though, I wouldn't justify installing something just because a dealer does. These are the same ppl that install pro comp long travel kits which are known to be garbage and ask for an extra 15 grand.

Give the shocks about a week to settle. You'll probably lose around a quarter of an inch in height up front.

@Law323 yeah I have an appointment for my alignment next week so hopefully it's settled by then. The front does seem pretty high. I was expecting more rake with the +3. Right now I only have less than 1/4" rake.

Yeah, my truck was perfectly level give or take 3/4 rake and I hated it (second gens look nose high even at level) I decided to wait a week before taking any steps and sure enough I had lost about a quarter of an inch or so. Now it sits perfect for me at 1.25" of rake.
Every guy I know that's done the level has lost a little bit of height afterwards.

Alignment will help with that somewhat too. So you're golden!

All same as stock numbers. Should be in the computer at the shop. That's what my shop did.

    How'd the shocks settle?

@Law323 reason I ask is LRO instructions say to use 2 for caster. Not sure why. Should I follow those instructions or stick with stock?

I driven about 200 miles. It only settled another 1/16" from initial install lol. So I'm still over 3"!

There's a thread on another forum that says what to put your alignment numbers at. Mine rode great on these numbers.
    http://www.tundratalk.net/forums/tu...recommendations.html#/topics/112656?_k=hz7ksp

I'm betting it'll go down a little after alignment and another week!

@Law323 sweet.. made me do a lot of reading there!

Cliff notes for those that don't want to read all those pages....

    Camber : +.1 / side
    Toe : +.12 /side
Caster : as much caster you can get without sacrificing +.1 camber

Please correct me if this is wrong!
