It very well could be. I could have reacted the second I heard the crunch of my fender and thought I hit something? It was when my tire was in the air that I knew what had happened. I don't think I was on the brakes long because I was still going pretty fast haha

Pretty scary. I had an "oh shit" moment yesterday when my clutch decided to let go at 7500 rpm in second on my SHO yesterday. The feeling of helplessness as you coast to a stop sucks.

That I completely understand. I used to love working on my 99 Tacoma. Had a ton of sentimental value to me. Of course you still take the cake with your attention to detail

    Hi Guys,
I keep looking online and these dealerships I dont trust. I would like to purchase a first gen tundra 4x4 with low miles for its year, minimal rust and runs great. Upgrades are a plus. Distance doesnt matter. If you have something, please hit me up

I had a holy shit moment last Saturday. Car brakes completely failed at work and ran into my brand new toolbox.

Well, the cover is not correct. The side that goes down and fastens under the plastic trim ( left side drivers seat where seat heater button is) is too short. These pics show the new cover with plastic trim in place and a pic of the old cover laid on top to compare. My measurements indicate the side piece or (curtain as I believe it is referred to) is a couple of inches too short.20190331_130226.jpg 20190331_130133.jpg

Oh and the color although a bit different really blends better with the back of seat than it does in these pics where the old top is shown.

Not sure if I missed noticing the film of debris stuck on the side walls of the overflow reservoir, but today noticed some particulate resting at the bottom of the fluid that was freshly dumped and replaced on yesterday. Wondering if I stirred things up?

Poured out the fluid and thouroughly rinsed out the reservior and filled with fresh. Pictured in yellow is sediment that is heavier than the fluid resting at the bottom. Iron, gasket, and aluminum? Science!

May end up doing a third drain and refill sometime after putting on some miles.

Did you replace the pump recently, thats normal if the pump was replaced because of all the crud that falls in the cooling system when your cleaning the sealing surface.

Pump and belt done 50k miles ago. This radiator has about 40k miles on it. Last fluid change 10k miles (drain and refill at a shop).

Yesterday, in order, these items were performed:

    1) Backflushed heater core, then refilled core with coolant and test drove.

    2) Returned and all systems were good.

    3) Drained 6 quarts from radiator plug. This was all that would empty. Filled 6 quarts. Emptied Reservior and filled. Test drove. All systems good.

    4) Returned and drained 6 more quarts and refilled with 6 quarts. Test drove all systems good.

    Today:
    5) Awoke this morning to check level at cap and added a hair. Looked inside reservior and saw the debris. Emptied and cleaned out and filled to ‘L’ on reservior.

    6) Just returned from a test drive of 25 miles. All systems good. No debris in reservior. Engine is still hot so I’ll wait to see how things ‘settle out’ after cooling.

Wondering if the debris has been stuck up high on the reservior all this time and I did not notice it until putting in new? That debris is high up on the side wall of the reservior way past the Full Line.

Well, I will call the place I got it from , not sure that will help because even though They had a 99% good review rating there were others with same problem and some of those were folks giving neutral reviews . I ave thought about tweaking the foam by shaving some off the under side and thus lowering the cover but that would be really wrong . I might try putting some weight om seat and pull down and see what it looks like but I think a seem might bust . Will try to call tomorrow but some others said they tried to call for various issues and didnt resolve anything

Ran a few wires in some loom through the frame to the bed in preparation.

Put in the longer rear braided brake line.
After bleeding the whole system, including the lspv, twice, I’m starting to think I have an issue with the mc. Going to bleed it again after work tomorrow.

Alrighty, makes sense. I planed on refinishing the front sway bar since mine has a lot of paint flaking off.

I think I’m going to go with the beefier TRW end links. Haven’t decided on bushings yet. For rubber options it seems like Moog is the main choice, but if their quality is down then not sure. Poly is tempting, but I don’t want squeaking or something too stiff. I’ll figure it out and report back.

Thanks for the input, it helps!

Replaced the interior lights with SuperBrightLeds, definitely a huge difference and makes the truck feel more modern (not to mention useable) for sure.

The driver's seat just has a cheap foam cushion I found on Amazon. My seat bottom foam has broken down near the door and the leaning kills me on long drives. I tried to find a more elegant solution like padded seat covers but didn't have much luck.

Ordered the Wheeler's Offroad Anti-Sway kit to replace my bushings on my sway bar and end links. Have new Moog end links coming. Amazon had them for under $24 each and I have prime so free shipping. I'll put the wheeler's poly bushings on the Moog end links and see how it does! the wheeler's kit includes new bump stops as well. I'll throw those on too. I was intrigued by that honestly. I liked how it was a very comprehensive bushing kit, honestly my main reason for purchase.

    I'll report back once installed!

Tonight I'm scraping down and repainting the front sway bar. It's rusty and crusty! :goingcrazy:

Coolant reservior looks very clean with no debris. I found some pics from a few weeks ago when painting the battery hold down brace that show the reservior had that splotch build up. My thoughts are that the debris stayed in the reservoir.

I’ll check the engine later once it cools off. Need to post up those pics of the stainless clamps on the power steering reservior, too.

Filled up today. 11 mpg. Lots of idle time and city short trips.
