DON'T INSTALL LED TAIL LIGHTS ON YOUR SAFETY SENSE TUNDRA!!!

Damn you got your truck towed just for a fuse? A quick search and you’ll find your answer. There are 2 fuses that work with the taillights, TAIL and STOP.


Pro tip: install one taillight at a time. LED taillights like your spyders need to have the plug installed a certain way. If your taillights/brake lights don’t work correctly, then reverse the plug. Buy a little box of extra fuses in case they keep blowing.

I had the same problem you did, but once I realized what was wrong, they were super easy to install.

Got these blacked out tail lights, had them for about 8 months now. So far no fogging nor water leaking into them. Bulbs are LEDs from VLEDS.

Yes there is...you can paint them (with a tinted base coat clear) I have them on my truck.

 

These were Spyders I got off eBay.

IMO these look cleaner and simpler than the winjet version ones.

 

I’m probably late to this, but I found this forum thread useful, I had the same issue, I installed some smoked sounder tail lights, first light went of great. When I put the other light in, brake malfunction popped up on the screen, and didn’t let me shift into gear, turns out a fuse blew out. Changed the fuse and now both tail lights work, and brake override malfunction notice is gone...

Fuse box is under driver foot leg, labeled STOP.

 

1000% blew a fuse from plugging in the harness upside down and crossing the polarity . Change the fuse or fuses (should be one or two ) and problem will be resolved

 

Headlight Revolution, I have the 2018 Tundra Limited and replaced all interior lights, cab and brake lights with LEDs from Headlight Revolution. It looks great and I have had no problems.

 

I wish to know.. what brand are those and If you just put it and that It ??.. as you didn’t change anything else.

You will be good. I run VLeds in mine. The taillights have nothing to due with the TSS. Even Morimoto will be releasing tail lights for our trucks soon.

old thread but anyways, since I just had issue today and search saw a few threads of people periodically having same deal...

There is a 10A fuse called STOP under the dash. That's the one that blew on my 2018 today and made a bunch of warnings light up. Brake Override Malfunction, Trailer Brake Error, Pre-Collision System Malfunction, plus the "brake" light in cluster and some other lights. Can't figure out why fuse blew on mine. No damaged wires or loose plugs that I could find.
