I’m about to pull the trigger on a magnum headache rack with lights in it. It comes with a plug and play wiring harness that plugs inline with the trailer plug to power the lights. My question is what pair of wires need to be connected to make the truck think a trailer is hooked up ( not that I want that to happen). Without going to my truck with a test light, is the 7 pin plug receving voltage.

I just don’t want to hook everything up then come to find out the truck thinks a trailer is hooked up when they’re isn’t.

Also the truck won't think you're pulling a trailer since you're not pulling power for trailer brakes. I run a tailgate light bar off of the trailer plug with no issues.

Can you tell me what the headache rack is for? Always been curious. Purely aesthetics?

Headache racks are usefully for many things.
-They can protect the cab and back window.
-some people lean longer lumber onto the headache rack for transport.
-mounting lights work lights or flashing orange lights.
Magnum makes a really cool product that provides bed rails and a half rack to create a full ladder rack.

Did you buy one? I'd be curious to see some pics if you're willing to post some. I've seen these on other trucks and they look great, but it's hard to find more than a few pics of them on Tundras.

    Honestly, I really don't need it.:D

That said, I want some secure anchor points after I put in a Decked system. [I don't want to use their anchor points.]

So, I might get the Relentless Fabrication cargo bars or a headache rack. Leaning toward cargo bars.

I've got a bunch of mods planned this summer [after I retire].
