I figured I would put these photos up for the rest of you guys to see and hopefully avoid making the same mistake. This bumper has less than 35k miles on it. The rust was minor right when it started, but spread like wildfire. I don’t have the stock bumper anymore or it would’ve been pulled off right away. They offered me the spray paint that matches their factory powdercoating to start, and now they’re offering me 50% off a new bumper.

I would avoid magnum like the plague if I were you guys. Just wanted to throw my experience out there. My truck is the billboard for my business, and it makes me sad to see this everyday.

Holy S#!t. Well, you can still make repairs out of it and have it LineX or Rhinoliner. But that sucks.

Hate to jump on the band wagon, but I too am disappointed with ICI products. I bought the Magnum RT steps for my 2016 Tundra and the powder coat turned light grey within a year or so. I live in the desert, so we don't get much rain or wet weather and the fading was just so premature i thought. I finally just took them off and now they just collect dust in my garage. Yes, i could have painted, plasti dipped or had them lineX'd but i didn't want to spend any more money on them. Sorry to hear about the bumper, that is some severe rusting right there.

I told them that if they couldn’t come through I was going to put them on blast, so thanks for your story. There are 15,000 members on this forum and I hope that even 10% of them see our issues. I would go sign up for dodge/Chevy/ford forums just to post this, but screw it. Let them put ici products on their trucks .

As a business owner, it sucks to see the difference between what I would do with empty pockets for a customer, and what a huge corporation would do for me with thousands to spare.

Yea and unfortunately I don’t even have time to take orders on the forum to make more money, let alone fix a lost cause.

I’m not buying shit from them. I’d probably better off buying a 700$ eBay bumper

I can only imagine that metal had a shitload of surface contaminant, or the finish was prepped badly. It’s just peeling off!!

I would think you can blast it and get it PC’d or line-x’ed.

It looks like a sharp bumper otherwise.

    Sucks.

The forums for each gen truck should have a sticky feedback thread for just this type of stuff.

Wow. No way a bumper should have rust like that being here in the semi-arid conditions of CO. Makes me glad I didn't order one to replace my stock bumper.

Yea it's pretty sad. They said they can't do anything because its out of their 1 year warranty. They take a lot of pride in their paint process...... Meanwhile I look at N-fabs site just for giggles and they have a 5 year limited warranty on paint. Some pride they have over at ICI!

Their site says 3 step paint process.

    1. Pee on it
    2. Wipe it around with your shoe
    3. Spray can it

Out of curiosity OP, do they salt roads in CO?

If so, I’m sure the mineral deposits dont help. I’d guess bad prep prior to final finish.

Regardless, sorry to see that happen.

Well you can throw first time quality out the door. Unacceptable!!!! Hell plasta dip would've held up better than that. That bites man. I'm with @Bongskie on line x or rhino liner. I wouldn't waste my money on painting or powder coating.

Mountains of CO. So is my wrap that is older than the bumper :rofl::rofl:.

I'll only have the truck a little bit longer I'm thinking. Am going to try to fix and trade for a stock bumper.

Most likely the 2020 truck. I’m on a lease for the writeoff aspect. Don’t know if I want a limited with @Toytec Lifts or just get a pro and not worry about mods.

When I was looking to replace my front bumper this one was on the list until I saw one that looked like that in person. Couldn't have been more that a year old and it looked terrible.

I think I could do 3 years with just an insane wrap and some shims and shackles on it. As much as my sr5 with 5100s looks good and works, it could be a smoother ride on dirt roads I drive almost every day in the summer.

That’s a no brained. The stock Michelin’s are ridiculous on any tundra, let alone the pro. Why does the 4R get terra grapplers?!
