Replacing the interior bulbs with LED and now my left map light won't work with a new LED or the original bulb. The right one works fine. I figured they were on the same fuse, but wanted to confirm?

Should be. Sure it's not a contact that got slightly bent?

I'm going with bent contact, I looked on the interior fuse panel picture I found on here, and I didn't see any reference to map light at all.

I bought a set of LEDs off Amazon for about $20 and so far this conversion wasn't really worth it. I like the color of the LED light but the added brightness isn't as dramatic as I thought it would be.

If the map lights are on the dome circuit, I have a socket issue

My dome lights go off sometimes (not often) best I can guess is sometimes the reflector opening isn't big enough and messes with the connection by jamming down the LED.
I need to Dremel the openings a little bit haven't gotten around to it yet.

I installed some nasty bright LEDs in my Taco and i had to take them out for ones that were a little less potent. Too much light in a small truck..

I'm trying to figure out what actually turns the light on? On the left map light, I made the mistake of asking the metal reflector out to get to the bulb. Well you can guess what it looks like after putting in back in again...

I had the same problem. I thought I was screwed, but just bent the metal reflector back into place after putting it back in. Seemed to do the trick

It's a pressure switch located furthest from the windshield. From what I could gather, it's either a prong connected to the light cover or a flat surface that triggers the switch.
I had broken the light cover hinge so I didn't want to push my luck by playing around with it any more than needed

Maybe try rotating the bulb? Might have the polarities switched? Had to do that when putting in mine.

Don't know if that'll help but that's the extent of my knowledge. Good luck John!

I mangled the one metal piece pretty good and broke a tab. I tried the LED both ways, a second LED and the original bulb. Thinking prongs now, need to revisit it when I have some more patience. Thanks for the info its greatly appreciated!

I just installed an $11 pack of LED'S from Amazon and they are pretty badass. Bright as hell and have had a few folks stop at my house and ask about them. They shit when I say 11 bucks from amazon lol.
