Has anyone figured out a good way to make this indent in the dash a charger? This is what I came up with and the wire bugs the crap out of me!

    Lost track after #1.
Could always just make the center console the charger instead. Several DIY posts here about it.

I could sure do that. I'd need a USB coupling of some sorts. Then an 8' USB or something along those lines.

But if I could hide it under the dash and just put the phone on the dash of rather do that. But I don't no how thick the dash is. And I don't no how much those qi chargers can project through.

If you take the little rubbery insert off (mine pops off anytime it's bumped) there are two small holes where it is supposed to snap in.
You could probably hardwire in a power cord and run it inside the dash and up through that point. Might have to drill a small hole to run it through.
Or hell, if you're hardwiring a power cord up there, why not modify the center console mod to fit that spot and use the same process to mount a wireless charging base into that indentation?

I'm not brave enough in my mod skills to undertake something like that. I haven't even convinced myself I can handle what most here consider simple wiring projects. But, I've got faith that you can do it.

Why not pop the speaker grill and run the wire down that way and turn the charger around so the wire faces the grille?

I think the dash and rubber mat are going to be way too thick to mount a hidden charger. @ARamirez73 suggestion to use a longer cable to route through the dash speaker is probably your best bet to clean that up. Let us know what you end up doing!

Any idea what the under side of the dash looks like? I've found charges made for embedding in end tables (see link) seems like it would work great if it's flat enough

Underneath the HU where the USB panel is, that'll pop out with a pry tool. Then remove the screws, and pull out the HU, you don't need to disconnect the harnesses. Place the HU on a towel. Flip your charger around, take the OEM tray off the dash and tunnel the wire through at the windshield side. If you need to make the hole bigger, it won't be visible anyway as it's in the front of tray and underneath it. How you want to wire the other end, behind or in front of where the USB panel, is up to you.

Or, you could just do the wireless center console hack

So I had some time today got the dash ripped apart. It's completely flat up there. So I ripped apart the qi charger I had for ontop of the dash and epoxied the coil right to the dash above the radio. Added a usb plug under the dash and buttoned it back up. That top indent is now a fast charger qi charger.

I would have don't the console mount one if I had one. I have the front bench seat so I needed something different

Unless I'm on a long drive, I rarely use my wireless charger. I prefer quick wired USB-C high output cigar charger.
