I am debating trading in my new 2016 SR5 TSS 2wd with the 4.6L for a 2014 1794 edition 4x4 with 63K miles. The dealer has the 1794 now listed under $36K, they wanted $40K for it when I bought the TSS. The tires are over 50% worn and one rim has curb damage.
    Thoughts?

Will you be upside down on the 2016? Is the 2016 a lease? Paid cash for it?

Also keep in mind you will be trading for a vehicle that has 63,000 miles..

But if it s what you want then go for it, only you can decide what to do, but me personally I would not

Why the 1794 edition? I'm all for getting rid of the small engine that's 2wd for a bigger v8 with 4wd but you're gonna pay dearly for that edition

How far are you on your deal as far as the loan goes? Do you pay more than required every month?

When I traded in my 2012 I was fortunate because I always pay much more than what's due to get it paid off sooner..and luckily they worked out for me 2 years later when we wanted the CM 2014

I had the dealer run the numbers, my load payment would go up $32. I have only made the first payment on the 2016.

The wife car was crapping out mechanically so I had to jump into a vehicle in a single day, that's how I ended up getting the TSS. Was not worth it to fix her car.

The 1794 has a roll up metal tounnou cover and dvd entertainment in the back. Plus all the other options that comes on it. I wanted the 1794 originally by the dealership had just recieved it that day and wanted $40k

$32 more a month isn't that much more to get what you want to be happy driving it. Just work them some more on your trade in to get the number down.

Do it!. 1794 is sweet. But 4x4 for me would seal the deal.

Something to consider as well is how much more your insurance will go up by getting the 4x4.

That being said, I think most of us on this forum are "enthusiasts" and therefore most of us are all for the 4x4 with the 5.7. Totally up to you though.

Depends how clean it is. 5.7 + 4x4 is a big deal though and the 1794 is really nice. Just remember if you currently have the 38 gallon tank, you'll be dropping to the 26 gallon.

The 2016 is the 4.6L so it only has a 26 gallon tank. So no change in fuel capacity. It may be close to an even trade, they ran the interest at a little higher rate than what I qualify for. Likely less than a $10 payment increase.
I got an $800 savings on insurance on the 2016 when my wife and I joined policies

My trade went up $10/month at like 1.7% apr or something.

My 2012 was 0% apr when they were holding that deal.

My vote is u get it. You'll love the bigger engine having 4x4 if u need it

Did all the paperwork, I requested an alignment since the tires had uneven wear, truck has a leveling kit. Also requested the couple scratches be buffed out and the damaged rim cover be replaced. Only added $18 to my payment. Truck is certified to 100k.

Hey in that case, if the numbers look good to you, you like the bigger engine and 4x4, I'd say do it.

I would check to see if they extended the bump stops so this doesn't happen.

If not, see if they are willing to do it so you won't have to later.
