Zone 5in lift questions

I purchased some fuel throttle rims 20x10 neg 24 With toyo 35 by 12.5 r/t from a local shop. At the time being new to the truck world i did not know these wheels were going to rub my frame. I do not not have a $3600-5000 budget for a 7in lift at the moment.


This local shop is telling me i can do a zone 5 inch lift with my billisten 5100 shocks they are saying they can raise my billisten 2 inches to make it a total of a 7inch lift. They Are raising the back with bds shackles. This shop is telling me that this will achieve a 7 inch lift saving me $1600..... What are your thoughts. This is the solution the shop suggested to my rubbing problem without spending $3600 on a full 7in bds lift. I am new to the lifted truck world do you think is this a bad idea?

 

I am trying to not cut my frame

 

Simple buy new wheels 18x9 with a +18mm offset with no lift and 35's with pretty much no rubbing.

 

Also it's a cab mount chop and it's very common mod to fit larger tires without lifting your truck sky high.

 

I love the look of the wheels and tires i just need it not to rub.

 

I've never been a real big fan of super lifted trucks. Looks cool as hell, but the ride can be real severe. Plus you have to be able to get in it. And your dog if you have one. Grandma's too.heh heh....@jlee is right, cab mount chop, maybe a ToyTec Boss setup = 35 incher with no problem. I'm going to 35"s when my current tires wear out. I have the chop plates. Need to get them welded in. Hopefully sooner than later. Check out this site some more. There are a lot a Tundras here with 35"s without massive lifts. Welcome from CO by the way.

 

This is simple... Either do it right (BDS lift) or buy new wheels. Don't go piecing lifts together to save a few bucks.

 

Totally correct. I have no doubt that you can get a decent "high" lift. Going to cost several grand easy. Don't go cheap for 5"+ lifts. Either bite the bullet or do what most "guys/gals" do here: Modest lift, enough lift to have those elusive 35" ers.

 

also depends on tires..some 35"s are actually 34"s

I've got 34.5's (295/70R18) with no chop now. 3.5" lift and +18mm offset wheels. Going to 35/12.50R18 next week, got some new tires on order with Labor Day discount right now. I'll probably have to CMC my truck for the slightly taller/wider tires next week

I have a 5” zone lift with 35X12.5X20 (24 offset) bilsteins 5100. Been thinking of going 8” as well. Extend the front only 1.5 not all the way. What would I need for the back spacers? @Rebel76
