Hey guys and gals, Walt here, I'm new. I had a leak in my 21 tundra double cab at the rear of the headliner dead center. I tried the replacement of the CHMSL gasket . Still leaked It turns out it was the shark fin leaking. I used some threes bond around the small rubber seal in the center. I'll wait and see if it leaks anymore.

    Welcome from NY.

Wouldn't that be covered under the warranty? Hopefully it us and they also replace the headliner. :fingerscrossed:

    Welcome from the desert.

I agree, warranty and have the headliner looked into also.

Any luck on this? I just replaced my third brake light gasket , ordered an evil off-road third brake light - just to find out it was the shark fin.. the last two pics are under a light rain. Can’t find a trace of water anywhere near third brake light, window seal or roof rack. This is the only thing I found, wet corners of the shark fin antenna assembly. I can wipe off and it slowly comes back. Also, hydrogen peroxide works amazing on removing the stains.. last pic.

I definitely went overkill, but if there’s one thing I don’t want to mess with.. it’s water:

    Nothing.
Mine is super loose too...I have to pull up on it and blow water out from under every time I wash it. Good lord, is anything Toyota installed on these trucks not cheap plastic junk?

I can’t speak for the 3rd gen. But on my 2020, it seemed like a daunting task to do this fix but it really was not bad at all. Easier than I anticipated and super glad I did it.

Stock, with a few cosmetic mods.
Now I’ll have to go check out my ‘21. Is it a pita to remove the headliner? Do you just drop it from the rear forward I guess.

Pop off rear headliner grab handles, then the top plastic piece around the rear seatbelts plus 10mm behind abs plastic circle. Then there are 4 push clips keeping the rear of the headliner in. With the rear window down, it’s super easy to stick your fingers above the liner and feel where the clips are and just pull down gently. I left the plastic around the seatbelts on.. just pulled away slightly allowing the headliner to push around it. There’s plenty of room to get in there and work with just the rear of the headliner pulled down slightly. There may be other threads with more specific details, but it really isn’t bad at all.

Damn shark fin antennas. I had to deal with this on my Silverado and now the Tundra? Sheesh I despise these things.
