OFFICIAL: MY22-24 Tundra, Tundra HV - 21MM Infotainment (Head Unit) Update Details - UPDATED 4/4/24

My 2023 went through the update about 2 weeks ago. The next time I started my vehicle the infotainment screen was blacked out with no function, but would still work with the back up camera. The truck was also getting error codes for the parking assist, and parking brake malfunctions. Took it to the dealership and they said they have to replace the entire unit. After ordering the wrong unit, and waiting on the now backordered units my truck still yells error codes at me and doesn't have a working screen.

If the infotainment screens are now backordered, I wonder how to common this issue is.

 

I have a 2022 tundra in Canada woth Hu sw 1040 still no update available

 

I think its pretty common. The new update has done nothing but caused problems for mine. Reboots frequently, asks for the pin, does not display apps in AA, won't connect to AA, etc. The other day the nav screen stopped displaying roads past a certain point but google maps was working fine. Taking it in Monday to see what they can figure out.

 

Yup, me too. Still manually checking periodically on the app & in truck. No love yet

 

Gettin this come up when I connect to multiple wifi networks Any ideas?

 

Im also now getting error code: 101

 

I’ve tried most everything resetting the head unit , tried updating from
USB online

 

You will need to wait a little while...there is suppose to be an update coming out within 30-45 days that will resolve this issue...

 

I am getting the same message up here in Canada. I have to say the roll out of this software upgrade is slower than molasses on a cold February morning. Not to mention all the hiccups it's been giving to some of our 3rd Gen Tundra owners. Come on Toyota you can do better than this, can't you?

 

They have another update coming soon that will resolve these issues...

 

I see. The thing is has Toyota ever heard of regression testing on few test mules to validate the software takes effect properly prior to final release to the masses. It's normal industry practice. All this could have been easily avoided.

 

They have...they've had a little movement amongst some teams recently...this next update should be real nice...

 

Just to clarify, you mean a completely new update for everyone, not just 2170 repackaged for pre-2024 models?

Umm...what else would it be other than 2170 packaged for us...? I'm not sure I'm fully understanding your question...

 

I mean 2170 would be new to me since my 2023 is on 2050. So by repackaged I mean 2170 (same number or different) applied only to those with 2050, or will it be above and beyond 2170 that applies features/fixes to all head units. Since you said the next update should be real nice, I would like to think it's more than just 2170. Hope that makes sense...

 

2170 will just be the latest available update for anyone that is pre-2170...

 

Any physical changes Ryan? I would love to get that little arrow shortcut that shows the main Toyota menu at the same time being on CarPlay

 

If it is to be 2170, then we’ll have that shortcut…
