I just noticed this. Best I can tell, the flap itself is just attached to the base by a very very thin line of plastic, and that has peeled away? This must be a common issue. Aside from some pretty inelegant fixes I can think of, what have people done to fix this?

It's melted away. Best bet? Trim it to look natural.

Here's what I'm specifically talking about. I can live with the amount it's melted right now. The problem is that it melted because it appears to be peeling away from the base. The mud flap on other side doesn't have this much play.

Interesting. I don't have my spares anymore or I'd send them to you.

I had the exact same thing happen. I drilled holes and added some zipties to secure it a bit better. Black zipties and you can't tell unless you're looking for it.

    Ok, cool. I appreciate it!

Yes, something like what Kimosabe is talking about would be an inelegant, but perfectly acceptable solution.

The driver side is on its way, but hasn't peeled as far yet.

If I knew it wasn't true, I'd say I must just drive a lot faster than the rest of you!

There are four screws that hold the mud flaps on. It seems that you might be missing one or more of them.

I wish that was the case. There are no fasteners where this is happening. It is the flap part of the mudflap tearing away from the base of the mudflap.

Going to be either a zip tie fix, or an epoxy fix. Will see which.

I took mine off jury still out whether that was a good idea with -10mm offset wheels

My truck being a Limited model, it'd look pretty bad with the flaps removed. And it's nice to have flaps that stick out enough to actually keep my truck slightly clean!

I had these laying around. Epoxy said it was for indoor use, but I think only because it will yellow with exposure, not because it'll fail...but anyway rather than break open the epoxy I just laid a thick bead of gorilla glue down. Will do the backside once it cures a little. Hopefully that's enough to keep it in place.

What’s the temp rating on the glue? Cold temps and snow/mud might make it weaker. Worth a shot.

No idea. We'll see how it holds up.

I had the exact same problem with my rear mud flaps. I did as you did, slathering the joint with JB weld and they've held up great so far!

Great. I figured this couldn't be a rare problem.
