Seems like this has probably been addressed but I don't see much..

I was in the tire store looking for new Falken Wildpeaks. My truck has 265 70 16 on it now, and the truck calls for either 245 70 or 265 70. My truck has the TRD package so it's got 265s.

I wanted 10 ply, the tire shop said those tires aren't available in 10 ply in 265 70, only in 245 75, and the difference would be fairly negligible, but that they're completely compatible with my truck.

In the little I've found through searching, I see that's basically true, but I'd like more info. I'm going to be a little less wide? A tiny bit shorter? What are the considerations? They're definitely cheaper, and 10 ply is a good idea for me. But almost an inch less wide...Guess I'm wondering whether I'll even notice. Seems like I'll notice an inch.

Curious on the positives, negatives, neutral differences between a 265 70 and 245 75 for my 02 4x4.

Well never mind. Knowing I'm real particular when it comes to looks, I know I wouldn't be happy with how an almost 1" skinnier tire would look on my rims. I went with 265 75 16s.
