I would bump up a size to 285/60r20. Yes you will add a few lbs per wheel but it will look great IMO and will totally be worth it and still no rub.

The Toyo Open Country AT/3 285/60R20 weighs 48 lbs according to Toyo's site... so that would take it up to 79 lbs total, which is only 3 lbs over stock setup weight.

Anyone have any pics with the Weld Cinch W104 20" wheels? Seen plenty of pics with 18" wheels but I'd love a visualization of the 20s.

I had to (for esthetics) go with 275/65R20 as the dealer installed a 2" lift (before I saw the truck) and anything smaller would look silly IMHO

I hear ya. I don't plan on lifting, although I would consider the cornfed 1" or RC 1.75" level later down the line.

BTW my inspiration is from this post way back on page 75 of this thread (pic below). This guy's wheels are Weld Ledge 6 20x9 +20 (34 lbs confirmed by Weld) with Cooper Rugged Trek 275/60R20 tires (47 lbs). No lift. I just love the lightweight combo and the upgraded, slightly-rugged-yet-still-light-on-her-feet pavement princess look. These wheels are similar to the Weld Cinch 104 that I want to get with similar look and fitment with same +20 offset.

I really wish I wasn't lifted. I don't need it or want it. I've thought about going back to stock height. I do a lot of 80+ MPH driving and the lift just adds air resistance and poorer MPG.

Exactly. I know what everyone will say... don't buy a truck if you care about MPG, blah blah blah... but dammit I want it all! I want a great looking, powerful yet quiet truck that doesn't make me shudder when I look at the trip computer.

I’m reposting since I initially posted on the other thread. I swapped out my KMC +18 offset wheels with K02’s 285/70R20 to ProComp 0 offset with Nitto Ridge Grappler 295/70R18. I like the poke of the pro comp. It looks more aggressive and really liking the stance. First pic is the KMC and second is the ProComp wheels.

I'm with you. I could have saved $60,000 and bought a used GM truck with their 8.1L and still had a bit more towing capacity and satisfied my towing needs. Then I could have a more economical rig for our other travels. I don't need the towing for travel, only for locally with my boat.
But I'm over 17 MPG with the snow tire set up and once I get the truck back I'll start tracking the summer tires. They're only around 10 lbs. less per corner. Fingers crossed.

Gorgeous truck. Both setups are sweet.

I know one is R20 and the other is R18, but how do the KO2s compare to the Nitto Ridges? Comfort, road noise, MPG?

I had the KO3s R20 before going to the Nitto Recon Graplers R20. The KO3s were E load range and the Nittos are T116, so much lighter and better MPG (which I am still calculating as the truck is in the body shop.) Road noise was not an issue with the KO3s and I haven't really noticed that the Nittos are noisy either (but it's rare that I don't have tunes playing.) The weight of the Fuel/KO3 set up was 102 lbs./corner. The Black Rhino/Nitto is 78-79 lbs./corner. My winter tire set up on stock wheels with Blizzak LR E weighed 87 lbs./corner and I was getting 17-18 MPG. With the Fuel/KO3 set up I struggled to get 15 MPG. My driving is 90% or better highway and the MPG suffers as the average speed increases, hence my travels in 80 MPH zones cause $$ to fly out of my pocket. It's amazing how much better it gets even keeping it under 75. I also traverse a lot of mountains -but what goes up always comes down. I'm really hoping that the Black Rhino/Nitto nets me 18-20. (Can you tell I'm a bit anal about fuel economy?)

K02’s are much stickier on the road. You can hear it with the windows down and if you’re going slow but not really loud and annoying. While the Nittos’s are quieter since it’s a hybrid tire. I gained 1 gpm with the R18’s going from 14.5 to 15.5 GPM.

Picked up a 2024 TRDOR long boi a couple weeks ago and was looking to update the tires without being too intrusive on the stock components. Fit 285/65/R20 on the stock TRD wheels and suspension. Removed the front mud flaps, didn't pin the liner yet- full lock pics included as a reference.. May level at a future date, but happy with the fit in the meantime!IMG_0020.jpg IMG_0012.jpg IMG_0013.jpg IMG_0014.jpg IMG_0015.jpg IMG_0016.jpg

Looks great. What differences do you notice? How far did your MPG drop?

Thanks! It's only been a few days so no major differences to note in MPG yet but expecting some drop. I've noticed some differences in braking distance (small increase) but have been pleased with the ride side far on road running them @40psi - I'm familiar with K02s as I've had a set on my other 4runner for the last ~50k mi. I was hoping to try the K03s this time around, but Belle Tire had a sale going on for mothers day at 20% off and didn't have the K03s in this size.

I only have a 2" lift but I've never even thought about the Jack. Gonna pull it out and give her a try...
My typical method of jacking is to call road-side assistance as I'm covered -why not use it?

I'm seeing a lot of "AT3s" in this thread. A lot without naming a tire brand. I've found Coopers, Generals, Toyos. Just curious -but is there an assumption that "AT3" means a specific brand?

Given that most new Tundra's come from the factory equipped with Falken Wildpeak AT3's, it's a pretty safe bet that most references on this form to AT3 are to the Falken Wildpeak tire.

Thank you @TimWelds ! I'm glad you're happy! Your Tundra came out great. Your exact setup is what I envisioned a lot of customers going with when we designed the Five Stars and Six Shooters - downsizing from 20" to 17" wheels with slightly larger tires at factory ride height to get more sidewall, fill in the wheels better, keep the weight down, improve ride quality, and improve capability and durability offroad.

Most of the tire manufacturers started out with an "A/T" tire years ago and then progressed to the point that they're on their third (or even fourth) incarnation now, i.e. AT, AT2, AT3, etc. So you're right, AT3 could refer to any number of tires from any number of manufacturers.

For example, I have Toyo Open Country A/T III tires on my truck, but as @TimWelds mentioned above, he has Cooper AT3 XLT's on his Tundra. A lot of Tundra owners have Falken A/T3W tires (often shortened to Falken AT3's).

For clarity and comparison purposes it would be great if everyone would write out the entire name of the tire with their post, but I've found that if you zoom in on the pictures you can usually read the manufacturer from the sidewall to figure out which "AT3" is on a particular truck.

I've had a fair amount of experience with all the different "AT3" tires. My preferences when it comes to tires with AT3 or A/T-III in the name would be the Cooper Discover AT3 (in either the 4S, LT, or XLT versions) or Toyo Open Country A/T III.

    • The Cooper Discoverer AT3 tires are great tires if you want an all terrain tire but prefer a tire that isn't super aggressive. My experiences with Cooper's quality have been very good. They balance out well, their tread wear ratings are pretty accurate, and typically the quality to price ratio is excellent (i.e. they are relatively inexpensive).
    • The Toyo Open Country A/T III is a good all terrain tire if you want something a little more aggressive than the Cooper AT3. In my opinion Toyo's quality is second to none. The Toyo all terrain tires have always balanced out with a minimal amount of additional wheel weights required, the ride is smooth on road, and the tires perform reasonably well offroad.
    • The Falken A/T3W's are considered extremely aggressive as far as all terrain tires are concerned. I would almost classify the A/T3W as a hybrid all terrain / maximum traction (mud) tire. They can be a little more difficult to balance, they tend to wear a little more rapidly and unevenly, but they offer excellent off road performance. Also, I frequently advise customers to look at the dimensions with the Falken A/T3W compared to other all terrain tires in similar sizes. Often the Falken A/T3W will run larger (wider and taller) in comparison to an all terrain tire from another manufacturer in the same size. This can be a good thing if you're trying to get as much tire as possible under your truck, but it can also lead to unexpected rubbing if you were thinking that all tires of a given size had the same exact dimensions.
    • I haven't had any experience with General Grabber AT3's, so I can't comment on them.

As mine came with Yokohama Geolanders (thrown in the bed with the stock wheels and Fuel/BFGs mounted) -I wasn't aware that Falkens were factory equipped on some Tundras

Yes, the TRD PRO comes with Falcon Wildpeak A/T3W in SL rated 285/65 R18 and some OR models come with 20" Falcon Wildpeak A/T3Wa. Neither one of these from the factory carry the Three-Peak Mountain symbol. These are "light" versions designed to help with EPA standards.

Does anyone have pictures of General Grabber ATX 275/70R18 Standard load tires on TRD Pro wheels?

Total weight should be roughly: 73 lbs. (TRD Pro rim weight: 27 lbs., General Grabber ATX Standard load weight: 46 lbs.)

Picked up my 24’ Limited TRD off road on Thursday. Dealer put on Toyo ATIII in 275/65R/20. Looks and rides great! I’ll upload better pics later. Thanks for all the help on tires everyone.
